They surely broke even last year with their player signins to winning $$ through the tier to Asian Chmps league.

They will earn money through that comp again this year.... so some positive signs.

What happened to Torres and his rape case... he was going to leave on a free, but I imagine offers dried up. If the charges are dropped, I wonder if he will go back to them.
His trial is upcoming, I imagine he’ll go to prison.

So was he just leasing the team from Charlesworth?

I know the centre is excellence was retained by Charlesworth, so it seems a complicated arrangement.

What's happening with that "The Greatest Little Club on Earth" documentary? Was supposed to come out today on P+ but it's not there?

I watched the 'Greatest Little Club on Earth' doco tonight.

It was reasonably enjoyable. An alright insight to the behind the scenes workings of an A-League club - unfortunately it doesn't dig too deep or show anything other than very surface level stuff as it's clearly funded by the club - doesn't have the creative licence to show whatever it wants like an 'All or Nothing' doco.

Interestingly the AFC Cup run is almost non existent- it's mentioned a few times and when they win the final they show a 30 second clip of the game and some footage from fans in the stands. I'm guessing AFC would've wanted a bunch of money for the rights to show clips from the games and it also appears as though the camera crews didn't travel overseas to capture any behind the scenes stuff during AFC Cup trips.

I think the long overseas travel and how they set themselves up for these away AFC games could've been some of the most interesting stuff to see.

Was kinda cool to see the build up to last seasons grand final and how much it meant to everyone on the Central Coast - Although it unfortunately reminded me of how close we were to being there...

Also I wouldn't be surprised if the whole idea of getting the cameras to capture the inner workings for a few years was Richard Peil's idea - kinda feels like it may have been his little vanity project to show everyone how he was saving the club.

Sounds like Charlesworth is holding out for a bigger bid to come in

I hope they see sense and just sell it to the person who wants it.  Terrible that the club are in this situation especially after the season they had.

Was rumours about Charlesworth handing back the licence cuz he was losing too much money but surely then, you would take some money instead of no money.

Mariners coach Mark Jackson’s authority set to be challenged following Central Coast arrival of Labinot Haliti
https://www.news.com.au/sport/football/mariners-coach-mark-jacksons-authority-set-to-be-challenged-following-central-coast-arrival-of-labinot-haliti/news-story/263b7c6a831f6e436a022cf356d8bc3e

Haliti’s arrival is part of sweeping changes at the Gosford-based club, which is understood to now be funded primarily by Sydney Olympic chairman Damon Hanlin.

Despite Hanlin’s investment in the Mariners yet to be ratified by the Australian Professional Leagues, it hasn’t stopped him from making changes at the club.

Gotta feel for CCM fans. Highest of highs to lowest of lows with that club.

Must be tiring supporting them have lots of sympathy for their fans. But at least they have been winning trophies to ease the pain.

No offence but how reliable is your source for this? It sounds remarkably similar to Al-Taay's announcement, but his departure was confirmed on the WSW website while CCM don't mention this.

Edit: Also the Wikipedia edit for this claims it's from an Instagram post, but links to a Reddit thread with that image and text while his Instagram account only has the image from Feb 2025. Or is this all an elaborate in-joke that's just gone whooshing over my head?

APL/FA running a club in the Aleague is certainly common, Nix would be one of the few "old" clubs that havent had financial issues which has resulted in the FA or APL taking over - that makes us the standard to be aimed for! no?

What does “forfeiture of the club participation agreement” mean in layman’s terms? That the owners just can’t be arsed, or that they’ve run out of money, or something more specific?

Looks like Charlesworth sold to this guy (https://www.afr.com/wealth/tax/the-football-club-boss-drug-dealing-director-and-100m-scam-20241203-p5kvgb) without announcing it. Hanlin being dodgy as all has run the club into the ground in a matter of months.

FFS give it a FKN rest just dont see why you have to constantly take potshots at people over a post not directed at  any one person in particular or is any way offensive.
Really CCM the "lowest common denominator" with all the things they have won your perspective is way off.

Hey buddy you were the one who took the news of a club in crises and immediately compared it to the Nix.

Not me.

And mind your language

It’s an interesting mindset you have.

Am interested to know if your support anyone in the premiership?

Like Spurs do you think oh ok, we are not in as much shark as West Ham so we are doing ok?

Or is the happy clappy stuff just for the Nix?

Charlesworth was close to selling to QPR before the deal fell thru. Sounds like the APL will go back to them & try to resurrect the deal.

Terrible news for the AL. We are blessed to have owners like Welnix. Despite our roller coaster existence. We dont seem to to need to worry about the financial stability of our club.

I am a happy clapper. I am immensely enjoying this season. My team has scored more goals than the team in first position. Ok we have let in more than twice as many goals as them but life is never perfect.
I know we wont win the league but we are banging in goals for fun. Everyone game has been a rollercoaster. We drama abd theatre
