I hope judan gets sacked. Every week I will watch his team play and hope they lose.

24 May 06:45

I hope we knock them out in a Wellington elimination final

This just looks so wrong

Its like having a messy break up and then the next day you see them with someone else already. Fudge you, Mark, ya bloody snake

Omg guys, would you believe I found this actual photo taken back in March. It appears to be Filip Kurto being signed to West Melbourne...

It's great! I think given what has happened between the two clubs, it will actually generate enough interest to boost attendances in home games vs Judan's team. A team that supporters can really get behind the 'hate' for. Maybe Judan has done us a favour.

There would be too many, AP. I'm included in that, I believed everything that he said. But I do still think that he came into it with the right intentions. I do think he wanted to stay here and build something, but I think he just handled it badly when it became apparent that he wasn't going to stay. Do I hate him currently? Yes. He's fudgeed us over big time. But when we were on that unbeaten run halfway through the year I reckon you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who genuinely thought the things he was saying at that point were rubbish. All that stuff he said at the start about commitment and "when you get me, you get me 100%," I think we all believed that to be the case including Mark. We hate him because he changed, not because he was a dog from the start who was lying to us the whole time. That's just the way I see all this anyway

We could probably do without the I-told-you-so triumphalism. Nothing unusual about the Rudan saga so no need for public displays of self-criticism just because people dared to believe in him. Pro football is chock full of similar (and many worse) examples of today's heroes becoming tomorrow's villains.

Questions I have, who tapped up who? He approach them? Or they approached him. And when was the first approach made? I bought his story about the kids. Any father would. I am hoping it is still a real part of moving back to Oz. But Western Melbourne? I would buy the Sydney team for sure.

Be interesting what comes out in the wash. I've been a big Rudan supporter and still am but I am not happy how this went down.

I get its a hit and miss situation in a few cases but surely we would have learned by now. He simply sucks at it

We just don't seem to learn do we?

Also, I have said it before but you CANNOT trust a thing that comes out of Domey's mouth, you just can't.  He has said a bunch of things that have ended up being transparently false

100% this

I am really sick off Dome and his attitude towards the supporters. Does he think we are stupid? I would love to see Dura as Nix CEO. He has integrity, empathy, knows the club, plus  he has a sports business degree. At least you know he wouldnt BS us all the time like Dome.

As for Rudan. I am old enough and cynical enough not to be surprised by how the Rudan saga has panned out. I have seen too many players/coaches/managers kiss the badge, profess love for the club/city and then turn up at another club the following season. Its football.

However I hate being lied to. My take on this was the Rudan was unsettled right from the beginning. Go back to his press statements. He was complaining long and loud very early about lack of ambition from the owners plus management issues. He had money to recruit Kopa and Taylor after that he was scrambling to fill the roster with local kids and B level state and old Aussie hacks(On the sporting side he did an amazing job...you really have to admire how he transformed the on field performances).

But I think he wanted out really early. my guess that there was contact made between Rudans manager and  his buddies at WU long long before it surfaced in the press. Everything after that was just spin. Once it became public that he wanted out the narrative became that he loved everything about the Nix, kiwis, Wellington, maori culture etc but he just missed his kids too much. He stopped criticising the club. him and Dome starting singing from the same song sheet. Dome said Rudan loved it here but we just couldnt resolve the family issue...yeah right!!!!!

I think there is more to come from this saga. Those that bought his oscar winning sob story will probably feel more upset than those of us who just rolled our eyes. The BS continues.."I didnt tap up Burgess and Kopa....they approached me""

THe thing that really bugs me is the communication...or lack of it. Why do we fans always get the brush off? why do we get lied to? why do we get patted on the head and told ""go away, its not a problem""

The people I really feel sorry for are the young Nix players. They bought into the Rudan dream.....the promise of a great future together. Turns out the gaffa was planning his next gig from half way through the season.

Yeh na. Was a fun season. We scored some crackers, won a few and did some exceptional things. We got an ambitious coach who put himself first. Well, wed already tried a bunch of unambitious ones. The only thing that annoys me is he should have pissed in a home final and he failed that.

The most interesting part is that people still think it was a total success and he was the only to archive this. Fact is, we made it six place, with some really troubled teams below us. He brought some structure and believe into the club etc is all BS, that is basically the job description of a coach, every other decent coach could have done this.

Rudan is good in talking and spinning stories. Start of the season after a few losses he said he is not interested in comments from the outside, at the end of the season he said he kept the articles about the Nix getting the wooden spoon as motivation. And you could see in the interviews you could see it bothered him to loose and just waiting to bring up some results to prove everyone wrong.

I'm not saying he is an ass, but he is also not all that class as HE think he is.

I hope we will destroy the Bitumens next season.

Basically that he (Piney) had bought into the family thing at first, but on reflection he didn't think Rudan would have left if there hadn't been another job to head to.

Article here from The Guardian. Rudan confirms he was involved in recruiting players and other WU club matters WHILE he was at the Nix coach. Also says he didnt talk to Nix players....".but they talked to me!!!!" This is really really unprofessional. He was a Nix employee and as conducting business for another club.

I guess this confirms the impression we got that Rudan was in another space for the run in to the finals series. It was certainly relfected by the teams performance.

"but they talked to me" hmmmmm wonder why they did that Mark, cos you told them you were leaving and they wanted to come with you, despite being contracted to the nix......None of this should have played out when it did. This should have been announced at the end of the season - its not like we have a quick turnaround or anything.

They are more 'ambitious' they will get a new stadium, which is nice for them, but everyone knows, building expensive stadium is not a sustainable business, either the Melbourne taxpayer or someone very rich will pay for it. But will he hear passionate fans as the YF in that stadium, no way!

The reason people are pissed off is because Rudan was basically acting, and effectively working, as the WU coach while under contract with the Nix. And pretty much lied to everyone here about it, including the club.

26 May 21:55

If what Rudan says is true [and I have trouble believing anything he says now], it was unethical to discuss any approaches from WU to any current Nix players, contracted or soon to not be - or not. A definite conflict unless the Nix told him that they had no interest in retaining Kurto or Burgess.

26 May 22:05 · edited 26 May 22:05 · History

Burgess also began getting starts over Singh around the time he was rumoured to have signed with WU. Makes you wonder if Rudan wearing two hats influenced things like team selection. Steven Taylor also mysteriously stopped getting minutes immediately after he signed a contract extension with the nix.

Allegedly

True, although Singh did have a drop in form and Taylor was returning from injury.

Story spin...Singh is young player and played inconsistent, needed more play time and coach who could build up his confidence.

I do remember thinking at the time that there was no drop in form as such, just a minor fluctuation and totally to be expected for any player no matter how experienced playing in that position and that it was probably nothing a tactical tweak wouldn't fix

I'm confused by this narrative of people being "fooled" or "tricked" by Rudan.

The dogs in the street knew ages ago he was going to the Bitumen Bogans; they also knew he was going to grab some of our best players on the way out.

Was there anyone who actually didn't believe that both those things were going to happen?
