they should have invoked the North Wellington clause and proposed a 7 team finals series.

Do you think this was Jason Brewer or Tony Sage behind this salary scandal? This was Sage and the FFA wont want an owner that is dirty.

Why not both?

But to blame Brewer as solely responsible is ridiculous. A lot more than just one person knew what was going on. That isn't even mentioning the fact that there were breaches which pre-dated his appointment at the club.

Exactly Tegal. And agent and the playeds concerned would have been well aware of it. As well as the person signing the cheques.

The FFA wouldn't have released that joint statement throwing Brewer under the bus if they really wanted to get rid of Sage.

Maybe Tinklers attempt at the renegade dodgy owners club (forget what that was called) was ahead of his time!

My belief is that as long as there is no proof, officials will turn a blind eye to salary cap breaches. Just like it was with cycling and doping, NFL and steroids...

I think the FFA will be happy that they've got their pound of flesh and sent their little message to all the other clubs. I'm sure several people in and around the board of Perth Glory knew what was going on, and I'd be very surprised if Sage wasn't in it up to his neck. I also suspect that Brewer has received a nice little brown envelope to ease his pain while he walks the plank, takes the blame and keeps his mouth shut. No doubt he'll be in a new job elsewhere sometime soon.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Dunno how many of you guys listened to the Glory podcast I posted earlier but they discussed an interesting thought, is it really worth continuing with the Glory name? Since Sage took over, there has been issues and its tarnished the brand, at what point does it make more sense to give up and build another club?

If they do turn it around on and off the pitch, doesn't where they come from add to their story?

The Glory name pre dates the A League and they had a lot of success.

I know, that is what I thought strange. These guys have been around a long time supporting the club. Things must be really bad to even throw that out there.

I've listened to the podcast. It was an interesting perspective. Fans saying time to maybe cut losses with the past. Terrible situation but maybe the only way forward. We've had similar rationale here in nz with kingz and knights. I feel sorry for the fans let down by their club.

I would be very surprised if he doesn't have a new job as an "executive" in the mining industry within 6-12 months.

Perth Glory chairman Tony Sage will not be exonerated from the salary cap scandal after Football Federation of Australia ruled his club was guilty of a "complete breakdown in proper corporate governance" for the series of breaches that ended the club's push for a first A-League title.

Glory have taken over running the W-League in Perth, their first move? Ask ex Glory legend & last seasons title winning coach to re-apply for his job.

04 Nov 06:51

Legally...

"By this time next season, the wages of Perth Glory players could be paid for by weed after the club's owner purchased a company producing medicinal marijuana that will help line the club's coffers."

Glory denied in their bid to sign Keogh as a Guest player because he doesn't meet the 'marquee standards'

keogh to sign for a Melbourne or Sydney club as a guest player tomorrow.

Doesn't play 'pretty football' like some other coaches but you can't argue with it because its been very effective.
21 Jun 08:40

I dunno about that. I think he plays direct, pretty enough football. He's no Ange - but then again, no one else in the A-League has been either.

He also apparently eschews modern technology like video analysis.

Building a pretty good squad tbh
