I realise that Marquees wage not included in salary cap, so I take it that if a Marquee is ditched and contract paid out there are no ongoing ramifications in terms of salary?

If thats the case surely Totori based on the first two days training should be made our Marquee, then on the third day of training following a dramatic loss of form he could be "disposed of"

I think the Victory will be looking to give him a free transfer to another club, so they don't have to pay out anything extra for him to leave.

Even tho the FFA allowed Ricardinho to be a marquee, I can't see them accepting Totori as a marquee.  Also, it is up to the FFA to allow the change in player status. I'm sure they could sniff out that rort a mile away.

A few clubs being linked to Brent McGrath, who appears to be on the outer at Brondby. His contract is up and doesn't seem to be being offered a new deal.

And from Adelaide:

Fabian Barbiero, who is uncontracted and faces an uncertain future, was not present.

But Evan Kostopoulos, who is in the same boat, did attend.

Article also mentions the football director has just got back from Spain, where he was looking at a couple players.

Oh and Milligan is reportedly being watched by European teams. I've seen QPR mentioned. He turned  down a big money Asian move already, because his family is settled in Melbourne.

Given that we won't spend that kinda cash, I'm pretty sure we are not included.

Could be a giveaway if they said "NZ based Australian club"

Normally players listed for international games are listed for example Ian Hogg - Wellington Phoenix (AUS) but Ian Hogg - Auckland City FC (NZ)

James Keatings Celtic newsames Keatings is going on trial with Australian side Brisbane Roar.

The striker was released at the end of last season by Celtic without having made a first team appearance.

Roar boss Mike Mulvey is aware of Keatings’ prolific scoring record for the Celtic youth side and is keen to see if the 21-year-old can recapture the form that was stalled by injury.

Player or shirt maker ... They have gone with Macron for their shirts for next season. It will be quite tragic if that is the Italian signing.

We used 'major' when Ifill re-signed.

Also in other A-League rumours, Tiago & Bojic are finally set to be announced by Sydney.

Sage has been reigning in the spending, I honestly can't see them blowing a wad of cash on an Italian marquee. I so want to eat my words but I think they have tried to hype up the kit supplier being announced.

Permalink Permalink

Smeltz is their marquee.

They've already lost one Italiano this week..

If it's the kit sponsor then shit that's a huge fail in terms of hype.

Smeltz is the International marquee but it is still unknown if his aussie passport could mean he could be an Aussie marquee.

It is Macron signing on as kit supplier tho. Glory PR guy on twitter is just an arse.
