Eto'o please.

Given how much cash he's got, maybe he could buy the club off Welnix and be player/owner!

I do wonder if the end of a World Cup cycle is an attractive time for older stars to consider places like the A league. I know the 'world cup cycle' isn't really a thing in football.

The Newcastle Jets have signed former Socceroos defender Adrian Madaschi on a one-year deal, while promising attacking midfielder Joshua Barresi has signed a two-year deal with the Club.

It's a shame the redesigned transfermarkt doesn't make it easy/possible to do this anymore.

What I could find: EDIXON PEREA - seems to unattached and same agency as Eddy Bosnar. There is also a Colombian in China at Tianjin Teda with the same agency, could be wanting out of China? CARMELO VALENCIA

Sounds like its David Villa on a 10 game guest stint & Duff to sign for City. Also Victory to sign Bresciano with the Milligan transfer fee.

Villa to City is MASSIVE!!!

Only a 10 game stint where he will probably just be coming for a holiday.

Can you imagine Siggy defending Villa?

I can imagine Andy Boyens

"In total the Club has five further players it can sign to complete its 23-man squad with an additional (24th) guest player also permitted to play in up to ten games. Melbourne City last week announced David Villa will join the Club for a period of the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season."

That's quite a good attacking line already with 5 players it can still sign. Good for the league overall.

It reads like that but they say Duff is the 3rd visa player (Germano & Wielaert are the other two). But it says they have 5 roster spots open and by my count they have 6 if Villa is a guest player. Its a bit confuzzling.

According to Wiki he's a free agent now but I can't find an article saying he's been released.

Nope, he is gone burger. They used the cap space they had earmarked for him on Duff instead. Was talk that Engelaar was getting offers from MLS clubs but could see another A-League club trying for him.

Wow we should've gone for Engelaar.

I think I like that we got Gorrin as he has youth on his side and Engelaar seems a bit of a cock

How do we know that? We haven't seen Gorrin play yet.

The kid has good rapts and was invited recently to trial and Dortmund. So clearly is not shite.

I really can't see the Cahill thing happening. He is still very productive at MLS level so unless the NYRB are looking to boost their star power to compete with NYCFC, they will want to keep a hold of him.

Permalink Permalink

His contract runs until the end of next year, and tansfermarkt.co.uk has him valued at 880,000 pounds, so even if NYRB were looking to move him on they'd be looking for a transfer fee or to be trading him to another MLS club for a mix of allocation funds and draft picks.
