I read somewhere he can operate at LB and CM

Looks like Troisi will go to Adelaide or WSW. If either team can snare him then their hpes of winning the title will go up significantly.

Henrique now has Aussie citizenship, so their visa spots are: Kurtisi, Miller, Solórzano & Broich.

He signed a new deal last season, must have something lined up if they are letting him go. He would have a few people around the A-League interested in him.

[Edit: seems its already been announced he is joining Adelaide]

Someone has added Florent Malouda to the Victory's squad on wikipedia, so it must totally be true  then ...

Goodwin is a fantastic signing for Adelaide with Cassio unlike to get fit again.

Jets releasing Goodwin may be a move to free up cap space to try and sign Paartalu again it sounds.

Glory looking for a marquee striker, odds on Ruka coming home?

Probably a smart move. They have signed Keogh, Hersi and Nicholls who are all good players but none of them is an out and out striker.

Sounds like Victory are on the verge of signign a left back. Wonder if its that kid Ryan Go that was linked to them a few weeks ago.

Or maybe not.

Melbourne Victory can today confirm it has signed Australian defender and Macdeonian capped international, Daniel Georgievski, on a one-year-deal.

But Paartalu snubs them and signs a 4 year!!! deal with City.

Great signing that. City doing well even outside of the Villa deal.

Had a random thought about salary cap loophole jumping. Well basically a way to secure multiple marquees for a single season.

What's stoping a side like city (with infinite financial backing) to approach a big name player as their marquee, and pay them a huge first season marquee deal on the agreement that for the following two seasons they will be inside the cap.

For example, let's say you want to sign ADP. He wants 2mill a season. If you want to sign him for 3 years, you could offer him a 3 year marquee deal totalling 6 mill.
OR
Give him a 6mill marquee deal in season 1, and a low salary cap deal for the following two years.

Then you get a new marquee each season on a similar deal. You could end up with 2 or 3 or 4 'marquees' in one squad.

Anyone know if this isn't possible?

I guess the drawback to that would be if the player takes the big pay for the first deal and then bails when the year is up despite a perhaps behind closed door verbal agreement. Because any binding contract would have to span years would not count.

FFA have to approve marquees. I would think they would see what you are trying to do and not accept the new marquee.

NYCFC want him back after four games to do promo work for them.

I thought to exploit some sort of loop hole Melbourne City had paid Villa $5million and New York City had paid him a couple of hundred k?

Sucks if its true, really crippling your club by removing their marquee.

I thought the point of buying Heart was to extend City's brand and fan base - surely shenanigans like this and playing third fiddle is going to alienate the people who you want to convert to city fans

It seems really weird that if Melbourne pay the majority of his wages, and he stays for 4 games. That means villa is getting 1.25 million a game!
