Is there any source of the problems pointing to Barlow (since owners in my opinion should just write the cheques, unless they're Gareth Morgan in which case they should be deciding the playing formation).

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Tony P is the 7th CEO they have had and Farina is the 7th full time coach. There is only one constant at the club.

McFlynn?

(Traktovenko/Barlow are the 3rd or 4th owners as well)

Barlow's been on the board since the start, moving up to chairman over the years and Traktovenko has had a financial interest since day one.

It is hard to know what happens behind the scenes, so its hard for an outsider to pinpoint whats wrong.

Poor form of him to declare his interest in the job before the current coach is even sacked.

He has denied that on Fox sports today and said that most of what he said was taken out of context.

Judging by twitter tonight, Tony P didn't help himself on SST. People saying that he said you can't play attractive football in a salary capped league. I'm gonna have to have a listen when they put the show online later in the week to see if that is true.

18 Feb 23:27

So in a nut shell, the board live with their heads in the sand and the fans are about to riot. Brilliant.

Grumpy old bastard alert

19 Feb 01:41

Pretty much. As the owner's son in law (Barlow) is unlikely to be chopped, Tony P could be the sacrificial lamb if a suit has to go.

Kotahitanga. We are one.

19 Feb 02:06

I think if Tony is smart, he would get out now before he gets pushed. Its certainly heading that way

That article didn't paint a flattering picture of Tony P.

19 Feb 11:44

Why does 'Tony' is our scapegoat after reading a "Disillusioned" Fans view of the fan forum.?

Sydney FC could survive if they locked their own fans out till season end.

Yeah. I mean what do fans know about football. We know nothing. Getting a board position means you know it all *eyeroll*

Truly and unsophisticated bunch if ever there was one.

20 Feb 10:29

Our strategy is “Big, Bold & Ambitious” just like the city we represent and our vision is to become recognised at home and abroad as Australia’s premier football club.

That's not a strategy. And if it is, it's a shit one. It's more of a vision. Strategy is how to achieve the vision. No wonder they are a clusterfuck if they can't get the basics right.

20 Feb 10:31

Aren't they more adjectives describing the strategy rather than the strategy itself?

Allegedly

20 Feb 10:32

- We want on field success across all our teams coupled with a distinctive style of play
This was expanded at the fans forum, it includes attacking, defending and creating chances!

Not sure tbh. It's pretty piss weak regardless of what it is. Means nothing.

Yeh they could at least specify elements of it, e.g. we will support our team by watching with our backs turned

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

23 Feb 02:29

I bet Tony P misses us right about now.

25 Feb 00:51

Just as meaningless.

Aren't they 4th in the league?

Allegedly

25 Feb 01:22

They might be 4th but that team has a lot of flaws in it. I personally don't think they are a playoff calibre team.

Which team has not got flaws?

Bet if you were asked that question, you'd respond with "Brisbane"

Looks like you are not always correct, because I know they have flaws.

Despotovic out for 4-6 weeks with a knee injury.

CONTRACT EXPIRES END OF SEASON 2015/16:

#20) Vendran Janjetovic (GK)
#6) Nikola Petkovic (FGN)

Sydney have a ton of players off contract. Only 10/23 roster spots filled for next season. Since Carle has been frozen out, it could even be less as they may try to offload him.

17 Mar 11:54

I would definitely take Carle. Excellent player, as long as he does what he's told.

I bet Sydney are regretting signing him for 2 years.
Where would he fit in our midfield out of interest?

Somewhere where he can keep Carlos eager to be less a petulant child and put more effort in?
Like, breathing down his neck for a starting spot?

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

17 Mar 22:37

Think he would only really be an option as a replacement for Carlos if he decides to take off in a huff. The whole reason he's in trouble at SFC is because he's been forced to play second fiddle behind ADP, filling in at DM etc, so I don't think he'd be keen to come here and play second fiddle to Carlos.

17 Mar 23:51

I can see CCM or the Jets being interested in Carle. Ernie has been given the task to lower the teams age, so getting in another 30+ year old attacking mid goes against that. Plus we have Rufer Jnr to groom for that role.

18 Mar 03:44

That is a big pile of steaming stuff coming off contract there.

03 Apr 23:02

Sydney linked with Han Berger as director of football and Giovanni Trapattoni as a replacement for Farina if they don't make the top 4.

04 Apr 04:41

Tony P has rubbished the Trapattoni link.
