Defender Fabio has left Sydney FC after both parties agreed to mutually terminate his contract on Monday.

The Brazilian managed 18 games for the Sky Blues this season, of which he started in 17, but coach Frank Farina said he couldn't guarantee the 28-year-old regular senior action in 2013-14.

Sydney FC has boosted its defensive stocks ahead of the 2013/14 season by completing the signing of dual premiership winning defender Matt Jurman on a one year deal.

Also Ray Gatt is reporting that Carle signed a new 3 yr deal. He had 1 yr left on his marquee deal, so guessing this is to bring him under the cap.

After a season of global headlines following the arrival and performances of the Italian World Cup winner, the Sky Blues will play the friendly in Japan to kick off the pre season playing schedule.

All Stars game is on the 20th. Gotta question if ADP will play in it now.

Sydney FC continued its recruitment for the 2013/14 Hyundai A-League season by today confirming midfielder Nick Carle will return to the Sky Blues after a 12-month loan deal with Bani Yas in the United Arab Emirates Pro League.

The 31-year-old will complete the final year of his deal in 2013/14, with the Sky Blues extending the contract for a further season, tying the midfielder down until the end of the 2014/15 season.

Sydney FC has added more steel to its defensive stocks by signing former Young Socceroos left back Marc Warren on a one year contract.

The 21 year old represented Australia at the FIFA Under 20’s World Cup in 2011 and after spells with Sheffield United and the Central Coast Mariners, spent last season in the Scottish first division with Airdrie United.

Those that saw him with Sydney and CCM in the NYl are not at all impressed.

Good signing - think he will find gametime hard to get this season, although Farina wasnt afraid of playing two up top last year.

Guess he's got youth on his side and will see himself as a starter in a season or two

I think he will start, if they go for a 4-5-1.

           Janjetovic
Bojic Ryall Tiago Warren
         Grant Carle
   Griffiths ADP Emmo
           Gameiro

Just no width in their attack, Bojic & Warren will have to provide it all.

Wouldnt be playing Griffiths wide personally. Think if anything, you could see Gameiro and him swapped and Corey does have a good defensive workrate, but for me he is a striker as is Griffiths

Think they are a defensive midfielder or two away from looking pretty good - Bojic is a big signing imo.

Plus Bosschaart still too I believe?

When was he ever injured? If you're referring to the All Stars game - they always planned to play in Japan instead.

Sydney are going on a 6 game pre season tour to Italy  and playing some pretty good sides.

Looks like they mean business this season.

Yeah interesting signing. They must be sooo close to the cap...

Maybe there's a loophole that says if you have McFlynn as your captain then his wages actually give you more space in the cap..
