I could get in to my account OK and if I wanted to renew with no changes it would have been a peice of cake. I however wanted to change a name, type of season ticket and a seat - the former 2 you can't do or request online - called the membership hotline and got a very helpful lady who took all the details.

Fingers crossed.

Might need a bit of help with my maths here:

1 x Adult     Tickets - Renew Same Seat

Section: Xxx-X Row: X Seat: xxx
    $225.00
Transaction Fee         $8.50
All ticket prices include booking fee and transaction fee if applicable. All amounts are quoted in $NZD and include GST.     Total     $242.00

It looks a bit like that transaction fee has been counted twice. Has anyone else got this on the membership site?

I got the same thing. Have rung them up about it, and they said they hadn't been told about it before. They're going to ring me back...

Just had a ring back from the girl on the membership line. They have some developers looking into the problem of the overcharging, and is going to get back to me when it is fixed. So it may pay to hold off rebooking until they've sorted it out? No doubt they'd reimburse any overcharging anyway, but you never know...

Doesn't work for me and says that I have provided the username of an invalid.

So, $245 for new members?

Good value?

I suppose it's ok although you guys at $225 are gettin a really good deal, particularly if you can make even 1 of the 'away' games.

My $225 + fee came to $233.50 all up. Although I had an issue with logging in there, Tamara Kassey at the Nix got a guy - Adam Lynch from Ticketek to ring me and it was all solved in less than 5 mins. My login and passwords all work properly now and my ticket is paid for.

Couldn't figure out my login details so I gave them a call.  Spoke to Shelley who remembered me and the saga I went through last year which was nice.  Sorted it over the phone so am optimistic this year :P

Well mine went though OK. Do I still have to pay ticketeks fee if they dicked me around the last two seasons?

Hmmm, a new season ticket in that case is probably 253.50 - not really worth getting for the discount on just paying at the gate.

At the end of the day though, it's going to be easier for me to afford paying at the gate once every 2-3 weeks than it is paying $254 upfront. And, I still go to all the games anyway? No brainer in that sense too.

Renewed my season tickets over the phone as wasn't a straight forward renewal - a change of ticket type, couple of names changes, senior renewal etc.

Got my confirmation email of renewal with all the details last night - everything spot on.

Very impressed with both the helpful lady on the ticketing hotline and all my changes being correctly recorded.

Well done Tony and the ticketing team.

$254 = $19.50 per game if you go to Christchuch and Palmerston North

$23 per game if you go to all 11 Wellington games.

What was the price last year at the gates?

In that case you'd only have to miss a couple of games to make it worthwhile not buying the season pass. And that is not taking into account the price on money either (admittedly not so much of a factor now in the low-interest environment, but still something to take into account nonetheless).

Although I'm definitely getting a season pass I think the man has a point.

If you are going to ALL the games, fair enough. However I am not going to Christchurch and I will likely miss 1 Wellington game for definite.

I can't see any point in rushing out to buy a season ticket now. Unless you want to sit in a block with your mates. I'll wait to late July. When you have a stadium that seasts 34,000 and you are getting crowds of <10,000 there is no pressure for seating.

We have found you can sit where ever you like. Most of the time we just go in and then decide where we will sit. There is always room around the YF zone if you want to join in the action. If we have kids with us we just move somwhere near the centre. We didn't get season passes last year. Of all the many games we went to I don't think we ever sat in the seats we were allocated.

IMO
Buying a season ticket is about supporting the Club there may be some seat allocation and overall cost benefit but these are not the point to it.  It provides the Club with upfront money, provides numbers to leverage advertising revenue with and is more generally a sign of a Club's health.  If some can't afford to pay up front though, fair enough.

Well said - setting aside those for whom affordability is an issue - if you are calculating whether or not you are a dollar or two better off to pay at the gate or buy a season ticket I'd suggest, with respect, you look at it from Corkster's perspective - look at the bigger picture and get behind the club.

The challenge for all supporters is to convince everyone with a season ticket to renew and, hopefully, enlist a few new members.

I am worried about the relatively low level of renewals during the recent "renew at last year's price" window of opportunity. About 1,100 out of 3,500 took advantage of the opportunity.

Hopefully we will fill the key targetman position in the next few weeks and, again hopefully, also sign another quality striker i.e. both the new trialists will work out. We should also be launching our kit in the next few weeks and see it around town - once the shop reopens (I'm guessing on the timing but we need to see it out and about).

At that time we will be 6 or 7 weeks out from the start of the season and the buzz can start to build.

At that time I would strongly suggest the club thinks about giving existing members another chance to renew at last season's prices - those who didn't initially renew may be persuaded to renew by the new signings, new kit, buzz starting to build, mates etc.

It will, generally speaking, be a hell of a lot easier to persuade existing members to renew than to sign up new members. If we really want to get 4,000 members (personally I think 3,000 will be a stretch) you need to get as many of the existing members to re-sign as possible.

E.g. Txt, email, mail out to all members who haven't yet renewed a special offer; For 1 additional week you can renew at last years prices ............

yeah I think they should extend it for a week or so. Ive spoken to a few who have been a bit lax and the window has passed them by. These are people we might lose.

I'd like to see it offered at the same time as new members can sign up (ie three week renewal period, new member signup after the first two weeks?). Would make it much easier for renewing members to recruit their mates. Already having to jump through hoops to suss out sitting (well, standing) with my mate who's joining this year, just hope it gets sorted out quickly.

I'm really surprised and disappointed at only a 2 week window. I would have thought till June 15th would have been a better deal and allow time for the cards to be printed etc.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL PERIOD EXTENDED

Extra week for fantastic Phoenix savings

WELLINGTON Phoenix 2008/09 season members have another week to renew their memberships for the Hyundai A-League 2009/10 campaign and take advantage of excellent savings.

Last seasons members have had an exclusive two-week window to renew their support for the Phoenix in the coming season, with more than 1100 people taking advantage of significant discounts available.

Wellington Phoenix FC chief executive Tony Pignata said that while the renewed support of 1100 of the Phoenixs 3561 members during the two-week period was very positive, the club was hopeful of significantly increased backing.

For that reason we have decided to extend the renewal period for another week, till Friday (June 5). Its a great opportunity for renewing members to save money and gain priority access to seats of their choice.

We want to make sure that all our members from last season have the chance to take advantage of this offer because we want to reward them for their support and loyalty.

With 13 home games in an expanded 10-team competition this season, existing Phoenix members who sign on for 2009/10 will pay the same price as last season if they renew before Friday, June 5.

Thats 13 games for the same price as 11 home games last season fantastic value for fantastic entertainment. Two of the Phoenixs 13 home games this season will be played outside the capital for the first time, with matches in Christchurch and Palmerston North. Phoenix season members will have entry to those fixtures included in this special membership offer.

For example, for an adult silver membership that amounts to just $17.30 a game.

Pignata encouraged people to take advantage of the offer and to get behind the Phoenix in what will be a thrilling season.

We understand that a lot of people are doing it tough at the moment but the club needs the support of members. Thats why weve put this offer in place to ensure as many people as possible are able to get behind the club in 2009/10.

We have big plans and high expectations this season and that includes what we are doing off the field as much as on it. To that end, we have targeted a membership number of more than 4000, which would be a huge boost for club.

Go to www.wellingtonphoenix.com, or call the dedicated Wellington Phoenix membership line on 04 384 2457 to renew your membership now.
