Payne, Fenton, Elliott and I think even Cacace were all converted into wing backs. Mostly successfully.

Isn't there an old saying about all fullbacks being failed CBs or wingers? Probably not as true as it used to be considering what the modern wing back has to do, but probably still the position with the most converted players.

I'm still very concerned about our depth at the back.

Do we have any rumours or news of any more potential defensive signings?

Also don't think Rufer or Devlin are as capable as Matti was at screening the back four.

Just send Taylor the Wollongong beach bhotos and he my regret not be captain of the team anymore and planning a comeback.

I'm sure Goa is not much fun having to be in strict isolation and not allowed to go to the beach.

He's not posting on Insta as much as he was in Welly that's for sure...

You're lucky - I never had the pace to move away from CB!

Nobody seems to be mentioning Hemed scored zero goals in the 19/20 season...

Seems like a pretty disjointed season for him last year, moving between bench, starting and not in the squad at all. Of those 18 appearances, 9 were off the bench in small shifts. Plus, two strikers ahead of him were scoring, so seems like a Cillian Sheridan situation

Fair enough - interesting to note, Rudy Gestede is also available.

Okay, he will be dangerous, a significant aerial presence.

absolutely, as will Hemed, hopefully. People might see them in a negative light because they couldn't cut it in the prem, but they've both still got more than enough quality to give our league a good go

Tomer Hemeds wife just posted an Instagram story with her daughter saying they were going to miss him as he has to go away so looks like he could be on the way without them very soon

That's some quality stalking

Sometimes you need to resort to some stalking. May not have been able to sort his family a visa but great news if he is on the way

Hell, give them the spots of the Pakistani cricket team if it means he's happier and they're better behaved!

A bit more evidence Tomer will soon be on the way. His kids are writing goodbye to him and he may be a Barbie fan too

London or Sydney??

No way he would be out of quarantine already. A couple weeks ago, he posted a clip from Hyde Park London, so maybe Oi Oi has seen an old post?

He was running in Hyde Park London in a new post. Doesn't look to have left the UK yet but seems to be about to soon

Any overseas striker Hemed or otherwise, is really going to struggle to be match ready now by Dec 27th. Compounded by needing 2 weeks in Australian MI.

Similar I guess with Hooper must have been nearly Round 10 last season being he was starting/putting in good minutes.

So imagine either Waine will be starting the first few games, or some change in formation with Ball up top.

He has been training every day from what I've seen and does look in far better shape than Hooper, so I agree it wont take him as long to get stuck in

Charlie Lokoli-Ngoy on trial at Wellington Phoenix.

According to FTBL forum.

Ufuk said he wasn't looking to sign any of the triallists and that they're just making up numbers in training.

From what I’ve seen on his Insta I don’t think he’d look out of place in the UFC tbh
