Plus general life rules that apply outside of the stadium as well as in it, obviously :p
Will add:
c) don't break the law
But that's fairly obvious

I just publicly facebooked Westpac Stadium about my incident mentioned earlier, wonder if they'll reply ?
too right, why cant we just have one decent rectangular out and out football stadium in the North Island, with seating all the way round and close up!!
Just build permanent seats up to the pitch area at Westpac, play your cricket at Basin reserve, then your city will start to be the envy of the rest of us sportswise, you'll have the best cricket and footie venues in the country!

Plus iirc Shane Harmon told us they'd have to effectively rebuild the stands to do it properly didn't he RR?

Waikato.
North Harbour.
New Plymouth.

Anyone know how much Porirua park cost? 4 slightly larger versions of this stand would work. Its a good example of modern stadia working well in a suburban community too (obviously its not as big as the proposed Petone Arena though). Home of Norths Rugby, and they love it. So would hope Petone rugby would be doing what they could to get on board with the arena. That stand is decent for footy too, have watched the Nix play here many times and the views good, even with that 2-3m wide walkway at the bottom.
The rules of the stadium should be:
a) Don't bring alcohol in.
b) Don't stab anyone.
The end.
I watch club rugby regularly and that park is excellent, always enjoy the game out there.
Excellent surface too.

Nah there is definitely a national flag rule, and it's been around for ages. But it's there to address is fan-based racism, not fans supporting a foreign player on their team.
I get fired up because it's a stupid rule and none of the security or match day staff can explain it, or tell me why a Belgian flag is banned except that "it's against the rules".
On top of that, we have other national flags in our arsenal and they never even notice them because they are just black/yellow. So clearly nobody actually cares or there would be complaints about our other national flags.
Added to that the fact that one of the Phoenix owners was super-keen for us to get these fucking flags and it all adds up to a situation that makes me angry.
In fact, I'm going to email them right now. Grrrr.
Happy news. Our flags are now allowed. That didn't take long...

No they wont. They have never replied to any of mine. I think they just bin them. For example that wanker with the fucken overloud music is still going, nothing has been done.
I think some of them enjoy the little bit of power they get a bit too much.

I was wondering how much of this crowd control stuff is FFA and how much is Westpac rules? Do FFA liase direct with the stadiums?.
Because at the Nix game at Auckland my bag was not searched(they only searched big bags and backpacks...which is more sensible) There was no tortuous loud speaker blathering out code of conduct stuff, they had one very short COC video and that was that.....there didn't even seem to be many Red badge type people. The staff I met all seemed friendly and mainly spent their time showing people to their seats. It was a totally pleasant experiance.

WRST get the ball rolling forget the bar upgrade in Deloitte Lounges.

Hi AJ, thanks for your message. We will pass this onto our security team as there may have been some mis-communication on their part. You can consume non-alcoholic drinks before entering the Stadium, as long as it's disposed of before entering.
I was told those big gigs dont play here because their planes cant land at our airport
Gosh, you mean they actually played real old fashioned musical instruments rather than had massive recorded drum and bass sound systems (read "noise") or scratched vinyl records on turn styles in front of banks of speakers? Shame on them.
Protests on a postcard to Dave Gilmore please.
The way Sunny John is selling everything off, won't we be raising the red flag of China anyway in the not too distant future? "We'll sell the country bit by bit, so the people won't notice it, and just to show that we're sincere, we'll invite the royals once a year" = to be sung to the tune of Keep the Red Flag Flying Here.

Twitter is actually a good medium to complain, because Shane Harmon monitors the @WestpacStadium account, and also has a personal account.
That would be my first avenue to contact the stadium about any problems with overzealous security etc.
Also, take photos of any security thugs that try assaulting people to officially complain later, especially if said story about headlocks is true. Using "reasonable force" to evict someone is one thing, but it if you can show it was not reasonable then that's another story.
Wrong place for complaints about Westpac. Options yes.

[/quote]Thread title: -$40-45 Million Soccer Specific Stadium - Petone Phoenix
I think we may, just may, be getting off topic.
From Mike Fisher at the Petone Community Board.
I was hoping that Rugby and League might have been a but more positively vocal about this stadium.
Doesn't really sound like the rugby club has been at the forefront of thinking with this proposal. There are comments here and there about them potentially playing games at the stadium, but they certainly don't sound like they've been taken on as a strategic partner at all.
On one hand that might make it a little tougher to get this thing over the line, but on the other hand I wonder if it's because we really want this to be Phoenix HQ more than anything, and courting rugby outfits would jeopardise that a little.
Part of this that that also hasn't been discussed so much is the Phoenix shifting their training base to the remaining park grounds adjacent to the new stadium in the drawing, and also having their offices at the stadium. Our training facilities have been derided at length for years so that's a massive drawcard. We can joke about Rojas and his facilities but if that really was a major thing for him, then perhaps players like that would be inclined to stay with this type of set-up at our disposal.

Its typical of Rugby though. The players, the supporters, the administration - the game. Its happy the way it is being 'grass roots', playing out of haggard old grounds steeped in 'tradition and heritage', professional players playing only in NZ and nowhere else. Nobody associated with the sport wants anything in NZ Rugby to change. We're world champions. Everything is good in NZ, and therefore the rest of the world.

I would think they will have the ability to do that Ryan whereas the hallowed 9read currently stuffed) turf of Westpac wouldn't be available.
Besides, they train in a park open to the public now, there is no reason they can't do that in Petone.
