Its hard to predict how this game will play out. We will have a better idea once we know who is out injured. Currently its 8 players out or under an injury cloud.
If the team is severely weekened with the likes of James, Conchie, Isighi etc not available then i am afraid we will be overwhelmed.
The key to the match could be after the hour mark. AFC have a very powerful bench where as we will probably just have the kids.
Its such a shame because the way we are playing, if we had our best 11 players available we could have won this.

We are the underdogs no doubt. I hope we have enough belief in ourselves to repay the debt owed.

Good on you for doing that.  What was the last communication you had with the club on a major issue and did they attempt to fix it?

Yep it’s just a shot gun blast by someone aimed at anyone who is not a sheep and dares to question things up with the club, hoping that one day those aspects will improve.

I also have supported the Nix since game one. It’s quite a large club.
Thing is though you seem to have this perception that your the only one who is critical of the club. The difference between you and most of us who speak up for the club is many of us have also been critical of the club over the years when its been needed we just dont bring personality's into it or say it with the venom you seem to be able to do.
Also rather than post on social media if i have criticism i bring it up with the club directly instead of posting often baseless accusations  on forums.
So no not a sheep, perfectly capable of forming my own opinions and speaking directly to the problem rather than firing wasted shots.

Out of the match thread please! 🙏
Good chat but I’m trying to channel something, not really sure what and fire up all week!
Ta and thank you

Decent stats. 90% of aerial duels won is solid.

Mileusnic, Ishige, Conchie, James, but importantly also Tim Payne.  While we have potential backup options, these are not really like for like, in terms of quality and in regard to minutes they can play (age / health).
Injuries in preseason training is one thing, but the injuries to Ishige and Conchie were caused by the opposition.   I disagree with the idea of "letting these things go" by the referees to improve the spectacle and flow of play, ultimately it is counterproductive to ALM business.  It does not improve the spectacle but it may require clubs to have a longer and more expensive bench than they would otherwise, least an injury to two or three key players sends a potentially good season down the gurgler.  Not punishing the repeat tackles like those of Harrison Steele is detrimental to the economic model of the league, if clubs are to thrive with less broadcast funding that limits our recruitment and salary budget of a high quality bench.
This may be a far-fetched argument, and others may want to pick it to bits.
But WPX is one of the few financially stable clubs with a decent quality squad at an affordable price.  We thrive in a model where players are protected.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Chief said at training Wednesday they had out with injury and only one of those wasvsoft tissue. Indicated they wont risk James if at all doubtful. Ramy and Conchie both trained and will be considered most likely to be included in squad.

Hey guys. New here, thanks for having me! Just wondering what the plan is for the derby on Saturday? There’s been minimal, if anything on socials about what our plans are. Would be cool to make an afternoon of it! Anyway, let me know. COYN 🟡⚫️

Planning to leave the Featherston at about 3.15 to support the woman. Most of the flags will already be at the stadium supporting them. Not sure what time they are planning to leave for the Mens game. Not possible to get them back to the Featherston for any march to the Mens.

Not a lot can be done if people just dont want to come. I do question the wisdom of our ticket prices though. Does seem at times as if they just dont get how some out there are struggling.

Nothing shotgun about it, t was directed at you primarily! You may very well have been a suporter since day one, but it's pretty celar to me and may others that you're allegiances have shifted somewhat since the emergence of AFC. Not saying you now support them, but I'm questioning your actual support of the Nix given the distinct lack of it.

Think you're overreacting a bit there, calling someone an AFC supporter is proper rude

What's this AFC we keep mentioning? The only AFC I know is the Asian Football Confederation. ;)

I'm sure the club are well aware of the current financial stress in Wellington, but giving tickets away cheaply isnt sustainable, gamedays already make a loss, amplifying that would only hurt the long term prospects of the team.

Yep agree but better to have bums on seats than nobody there. Just think $40 for a ticket is to much. Was interesting to hear some close to the team express the same thing this week at training.

Awesome thanks for the welcome! I won’t be able to make it to the women’s game, but I’ll see you guys in the YF. LFG! Doesn’t matter if we don’t make many ticket sales, we’ve just gotta be louder than the port, raise our voices!

we've had this chat before - it's a fine balancing act between having a good crowd, the cost of hosting said crowd and then the sustainability of the club. We've all heard about the costs of opening extra bays at the stadium, dropping ticket prices to get more people through the doors not only reduces revenue but it increases costs, so a double whammy for the club - better for the vendors of course, but they dont pay anything to the club for being there. $40 for an adult ticket is just standard across the league - looking at Sydney's prices and its $A38.75 at Leichhardt Oval.

Tickets for the big blue are $A62, just for comparison

It’s not very inclusive, I don’t think we should be chanting things that are transphobic. It’s not who we are as a club to sing that. Even though you mixed the lyrics to make it less offensive, it’s offensive all the same. Bad taste for me! We can do better imo 🟡⚫️
Really sometimes some things are way over thought. Its a bit of football banter and despite what you say funny nothing more nothing less.
Has nothing at all to do with who we are as a club.

Thought that was bloody funny when i heard it at an away game in Aussie. One thing about the Aussies they dont give a shark about some of the PC stuff. Was funny hearing some of the stuff we used to before they took the harmless fun out of it.

Kenny the Kingfisher has been banned from Sky. Lol

"Tama, Rama, who the f--k is Tama?"

My God, some people are over sensitive and finding hidden things in comments/chants that were never in there in the first place. Ban all chanting I say. Someone might get offended. Especially referees accused of being Masturbators at every game.

very similar to the irish farmer, french farmer and aussie/canterbury sheep farmer who all died at the same time. Cutting the joke short, at pearly gates St Peter guesses the irish guy was a potato farmer because of the potato mud on his boot and the french guy a garlic farmer because of the garlic mud on his boots. He also correctly identified the aussie/cantabrian as a sheep farmer. "Thats because you saw the red outback mud/canterbury plains mud on my boots?" The sheep farmer asked. "No" said St Peter, "I saw the wool on your fly". Was very applicable back in the day when the Kingz used to play woolonyourfly wolves

Context? Elliot left us in unfortunate circumstances.

The more Becker I hear about the impression is someone who is a massive jerk, but who wants people to like him.

Very young CB who made a huge rise up the pecking order this preseason. Had barely even played for the reserves prior to that. Surpassed Gardiner and Karunaratne in that position
