Well, there you go. The responses from ballane and Feverish don't argue the case that the Nix are at fault. They're "oh boo hoo I'm not allowed to disagree/ask questions " plus insults to those who disagree with them or ask them questions.
I repeat: some people just want to bash Nix management. They don't ask whether this is fair, but instead demand evidence that it's NOT fair. This is called prejudice or an ax to grind.
Care to quote those posts where i have insulted anyone in relation to this matter. Not sure what case I am meant to argue all I have said all along is given the record of NZF I hope the Phoenix were all over them. Sorry but if you are getting someone to do something for you and you are fully aware they don't have a good record if you or your staff arnt all over them and it fails. I would Certainly expect questions to be asked. Don't understand how that is in any way unreasonable. Really until the Phoenix make a comment about the matter it's all just speculation from both sides of the issue.
This. Nobody has said it is all the Nix fault. All that has been asked is could they have done more? We will probably never know. But one thing my 20+ years in various project management roles is that you deal with some contractors who you ask them to be on the job on a certain day and you know they will be there. Others you need to constantly poke them with a big stick to ensure they are there on time. I think it is or at least should be pretty clear to anyone in the NZ Football community that NZF fall fairly and squarely in the latter.
It is telling that apparently the wombles at NZF did not even know this transfer was coming. For me the Nix conversation should have been along the Lines of:
Thursday before deadline day: Dome to Martin . "Hey Andy, Domey here, not sure who handles this at your end but we have an international Transfer coming through in the next couple of days and the Window closes on Tuesday at Midnight" Martin to Dome " Yeah no problems, thanks for the Heads up, I will ensure someone is teed up ready to go. Dome to Martin " Cheers Andy, I will give you a call as soon as the button is pushed ready for you to approve. It is likely to be over the weekend is that ok? " Martin to Dome "yeah no worries Domey, if you can't get me call Great Uncle Bulgaria, one of us will be around"
Saturday" Dome to Martin "Hey Andy the Transfer is all loaded and in your system now. Would really appreciate it being done ASAP for peace of mind. Can we expect it to be done by say Mid day on Sunday. Martin to Dome " Yup no problems Dave I will get Tobermorie onto it today"
Sunday Lunchtime Dome to Martin " Hi Andy the transfer has not yet shown as approved. Don't want to tell you guys how to suck eggs but we get no second chance with this" Martin to Dome " Sorry mate not sure what the story is but I will get back to you in 30 mins"
30 Mins Later Martin to Dome " Hi Domey, sorry looks like Madam Charlotte left on Friday and Tobermorie has gone bush until Tuesday. Dome to Martin You are kidding me? well guess you need to get onto one of your Pals at Fifa to sort this out asap, we can not miss this deadline Andy, etc etc etc
Is this trying to micro manage NZF? yes of course it is but given their recent History they need to be wherever possible.
Clearly this is primarily NZF's balls up, no one is saying otherwise, but do you not think that a different result might have been forthcoming if steps like above (project Management 101) were taken?
We will probably never know as the Nix won't spill the beans publically as they have to try and maintain some sort of working relationship with NZF
