As I said in the previous Cup game thread, most of our kids making regular appearances aren't actually good enough and would have been let go at other clubs but given ourr best players have all left, they are all we have. 🤦♂️
I actually think that only 'kids' that aren't good enough, don't have enough potential and should be let go and have played in the cup so far are Supyk and Roa Conchie. Loke looks decent, LBS is a future star. I don't see much in GSR so far but apparently he's better than he looks? LKH has potential but probably a squad player at best right now. Hughes is a decent starting CB, Sheridan probably has the benefit of the doubt from being used in 100 different positions.
The problem isn't the kids aren't good enough, more that we've spent the better part of a season and most of a pre-season relying on them rather than easing them in one or two at a time like we have in the past.
you have an opportunity to win a trophy in a pre season tournament, give or take and you don't take it seriously. Doesn't the club know if AFC win it they have two trophies in 18 months compared to us with none.
Everyone should do what AFC does and that way every team could win all the trophies every year!
Outside of LBS struggling to find positives - though Nagasawa and Retre have been better. Hughes got one of his OG's out of the way before the league starts.

Comparing to how AFC played, irrespective of the player quality, I just think we look very poorly coached. We play like 11 individuals and we look lost

Yep to all that. Too many young players being asked to do the job together.
Plus it doesn't help that Ishige and Nagasawa aren't the strongest senior players to help carry a half a dozen less experienced youngsters.
With Eze, Armiento, Retre and LBS on we've started playing. And LBS with the advantage of more senior players around him.
Hate to be so negative early, but eze looks shark… got beaten twice,poor first touch, oh boy
Yeah, willing to give him more time but he looks average as fudge.
I'm thinking that the highlight videos we've seen of him were played at 2x speed. Will pick it now that he's not going to score anywhere near what we need him to.
