Bambang gone...

Indonesian striker Bambang Pamungkas has wrapped up his trial with the Phoenix and returned home to Jakarta.

One of Indonesian Newspaper quotes sentence from Indonesian Coach assisstant that bambang told him he had been offered a contract from Phoenix but the value is too low. Therefore he rejected the offer.
As comparison, bambang got USD 100.000 / AUD 125.000 last season from Persija for one year contract. That value excluding bonuses and other fees.
I think bambang's rejection was make sense with regard to high living cost in NZ.

he took the fortune and fame over the ability to really push himself at a higher level.

i don't really blame him at 30, coming to a new country, wet and cold.

The average wage in Bali is $25.00 per week, so if this guy reckons $100,000 per year is not enough well what a load of crap. That is the problem with modern footballers--greedy and overpaid.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

No but from his point of view he can earn the same or more back home with an excellent standard of living (due to a relatively low cost of living), and he can live in a more familiar environment back home.

Money isn't everything but it is a big factor when a new prospect isn't as attractive as the status quo when it comes to non-financial considerations.
