It's also got pirate mini golf and and the swimming pool has a rapid river, although not as good as Upper Hutt's H20 extreme.

No - I think JV is right - Levin probably still holds the honour.

With the announcement that Gareth Morgan Investments has been sold to Kiwibank, no longer can the cat remain in the bag.

Sources close to the Phoenix have revealed to me that the Blackout the Heart has something to do with the new 2012/2013 Nix jersey which has just been leaked:

Also Porirua used to have that "welcome to Porirua" bill board with the wiggles on it.

Certainly not boring.

Not good reading about Nick Branch (link on home page).

Still: "Branch is two papers away from completing a university degree and is looking at either marketing or human resource management as back-up career paths should concussion scupper his football dreams."

Could be an opening at the Nix in the marketing dept soon?

Why? Just shift the home matches to Palmy. Worked out mint last time.

We'd need to re-sign Crowther as #1 keeper though.

Nope - I sneakily played my power play card just before Grandadi.

Game set and match to us old farts.

Never mind young ones - one day.

OK then, all joking aside, I am going to speculate that the "unique, once-only-ever event" at this game will be the Phoenix playing in an all black strip as part of an Adidas and/or Sony marketing stunt.

I'm hoping that to make it truly unique, there is a powhiri as they run out, a pre-game haka and some cheerleaders, egged on by our new mascot, Captain Phoenixcane.

I don't mind the idea, we used to be predominantely black!

Imagine if the team are going to be in on the effort, and are going to wear a special one off black strip... perhaps like the away strip, but with black with yellow trim instead of white with yellow trim? Or maybe they are going to wear a season one style strip?

Maybe that's the special surprise that's going to unvieled at kick off time?

Let's say it is the plan? Won't we look a bit silly in the fever zone if we've done a Yellow Out and the rest of the stadium has brought into this idea and are are decked out in black?

Support the marketing team who are trying really hard to make our club successful and trying to build up our attendance figures.

Get behind the black out I say!

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

The theme itself comes from a charity intiative around the game that we are running with one of our main charity partners - Cure Kids. So we are working with them and a couple of key supppliers including adidas to come up with something a bit different which will hopefully raise a lot of money for Cure Kids. The whole thing should come together on the day which will tieit alltogether! At least that's the plan ....!

Thanks for the clarification.

Seeing as it's for charridy (one that Paul and Elle support I think?) does make a bit of difference to my perception that the black out is ill-conceived, somewhat tasteless, and totally ignores the club/wellington colours.

Hope it goes well and if there are collection buckets I might even put in a few shekels.

However - I really do hope it is a one-off and the idea ofencouraging people to wear anything but Phoenix colours is put where it belongs. In a tard's glory hole.

PS. As it's for charridy can we still burn an effigy of Harold Bishop?

Just checked and it is the charridy that Elle and Paul support (the Hope t shirts).

I'll be supporting the club's black and yellow out and hopefully some serious coin can be raised for the kids.

(Sod the puppies, someone think of the children)
