There's going to be a card placed under one lucky punters seat...

Possibly/probably no Manny this Sunday...

The Wellington Phoenix are likely to be without Manny Muscat for Sunday's game against the Melbourne Heart as the club's new strike weapon awaits the birth of his first child.

Muscat, who scored his first goal in 85 attempts in last Friday's 1-0 win over the Newcastle Jets, is in Melbourne this week, where his wife, Rebecca, is due to give birth on Monday.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Where were you when we were Yellow ?

The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

I do cringe at times at the amount of casuals that might not come back with their kiddies at some of the swearing in the chants, but then I just mash some more pie in my mouth, wash it down with a beer and tell the ref how much of a c**t he is so I can't really talk.

***Thinks back to a few seasons ago***  Hmm.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Was just about to say this. So much angst, yet we only went to stripey a few seasons ago. Before that we played in .. umm . well.. black.

Would we all be angsty if it was a 'heritage' round like they do in ARL. We'd be playng in black then :)

How about some more positive suggestions then...

"You should come back every week"

"And next time bring your friends"

etc

Our average crowd this season is around 7k. Assuming 3.5k turn up week in week out and the other 3.5k are mostly "casuals" who come along say every 3rd week then the total regular / semi regular supporters number around 14k.

I think we'll get a good crowd this weekend (maybe 12k) and that wll largely reflect regular / semi regular supporters all turning up for the same game (Nix buzz, Gareth's nudge, big game etc) - which is of course great.

I don't think we'll actually pick up many new supporters until we reach the play-off stages.

Just thinking out loud.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Big crowds draw bigger crowds. As success breeds success.

We need:

1) A HUGE crowd
2) A WIN

I cannot stress how much we NEED to win.

I agree with the chants above that pamper to the casuals. We NEED them to come back and hopefully there is a huge buzz created on Sunday that makes them want to return for the Meow match.
