Can we perhaps get another manager to take over from half time onwards?

I really don't see how it is the coachs fault that the players cannot pass the ball 5 f**king yards, or control it if it does make it to them.  Piss poor performance from the players.  Problem is pretty much all of our attacking play came through two players with no end product (Ifill and Bertos).  If one of them could cross or pass, we would have pissed it

Well, in the end, the buck usually stops with the manager. At some point, you have to acknowledge that might be the case?

As I say, I do not know what he says at half time, but far too many times this season we've gone from dominating the first half, to being utter garbage in the 2nd!

Wait...Leo and Ifill can't cross or pass? I agree that they can't shoot but did you see the goal? Ifill's cross was brilliant. Leo has fired in his fair share of good balls this season too.

They do need better end product however. If Ifill had got that header, we would've won. No doubt in my mind. He also had the ball when the goalkeeper was about 5 metres out of the box and the goal was free. He then proceeded to kick it straight at him. Was pretty annoying.

Time to actually start Chen I think.

Greenacre is waltzing into that team every week without producing a single thing.

Greenacre is struggling because our crossing is so unpredictable. They're knocking decent balls into the area, but it lacks vision with no real thought about who's running and where.

So Chen is the great hope now? He looks chubby and honestly seemed buggered after 5 minutes

Fred in for Daniel as an injury replacement please (one can hope)

Think we will struggle without Daniel for possibly the rest of the season

Well maybe not the 'great hope' but time to give him a shot I think.

If it doesn't work, it doesn't work, but I don't think we should persist with Greenacre on current form. He has to know that he needs to fight for his place in the team.

I think we should just tell Ricki not to say ANYTHING at half-time. Maybe that's the solution we're after.

Whatever is being said in the locker room, change of tactics, change of positions, or even the wrong brand of bottled water..... they need to stop being sh*t in the 2nd half.

I don't want to do this dance again, as we keep going round and round, but I still cannot see anyone to replace Herbie with.  It is too much of a risk to give someone with no experience the job (Aloisi, etc) and within NZ I can only see Stu Jacobs, who personally I don't think is better.  The fact that he could not get the Under 17's (or whatever age it was) passed one of the Islands team backs that opinion up.

For todays match, I thought we were sh*t from about 20 minutes in.  I don't think we were any worse 5 minutes after half time than we were for the 5 minutes before it.  Once Fury started pressing us all across the pitch, the basic lack of skills we have were shown up.  All of a sudden passing 5 yards or keeping possesion for more than 2 passes was too much for us.

We were by far the better team in the first half - 8 shots to 1 shows that, and no real NQ chance to speak of. As soon as the 2nd half started we played horrible, though.

Ah! I see now. No one wants the team to succeed up front!!

Someone had better relay this to the Nix management.

10 games 1 win, drifting off the top 6 (of 10)
Poor subs again last night.
Ricky just sends them out and watches what happens.
Our average goals per game is really poor.
Apart from the goal and two headers from set pieces did we really create a shooting chance that worried the goalie?
Greenacre works really hard but cannot play under Rickie's system, his answer, let him get more and more frustrated week after week.

It's hard to say sack Ricki when we haven't lost for 6 weeks, but then we obviously haven't won either, a new coach would have to come from overseas. Let's get over this NZ thing, we're in the A League. In saying that I wonder how Herdman would go.

Being a keeper myself I know how hard it is to make split second decisions and carry them out well so a big pat on the back for Pasty!

Brown admitted that his legs were gone in the second half. Siggy looked sluggish and leo ran out of gas. Not surprising considering they had flown around the world in the previous week and then had three flights to get to Townsville.

So it was not surprising that the Fury statred to run us ragged in the second half. The surprise was that the Phoenix coaching staff did not realise that it was going to happen. The use of the subs was crap. Leo and Brown should have been replaced at half time.

Then what would have happened if someone gets injured in the 50th minute? You'd have no options left. Two subs at half time would not be a good idea.

As opposed to sending them out and then joining them out there.

We created 3 or 4 other shooting chances, its just the the players aren't shooting on target (Bertos especially).  Not sure how that is the system nor Ricki's fault.

I can't agree that the subs were poor either.  Daniel got injured, so he lost the opportunity to take Brown off, which I would guess was his plan, and probably his reason for taking Ferrante as he is the only other midfielder in the team that plays the holding role.  Hearfield was getting exposed out wide, so obviously Manny had to come on.  The only one that you could possibly argue with was the possibly to late replacement of a tiring Bertos.

We have an awful bench at the mo, when I saw it I thought we are knackered if we go 1 down. No attacking options just an unfit Gorgeous George.

No idea what the Manny sub was about either.

Maybe but why put on someone who'd just flown halfway around the world?

Your right.  He should have put on Mulligan who flew half way around the world.  Or perhaps that other fullback we have.  Whats his name again?

OK fair point , but Hearfield was not completely useless,(erm),  the goal was coming anyone could see that, we needed to bring on more attacking options, (which we don't have),

No you win.

Most of your guys argument is "his tactics are poor". This doesnt even mean anything without explanation, without reference to football manager.

Isn't that why we brought in Ifill and Greenacre. I think Herbert found a winner there, even if the right combination hasn't been found yet.
