I'm sorry both Ryan and Patrick have zero credibility in this forum when it comes to commenting on criticism of the Nix. Time and time again they defend the indefensible, misquote, and downright ignore the point being raised.

What is this bash Patrick month?

Im getting a bit sick of saying things like

“Play the ball not the man”

“Try stick to discussing the issue, rather than the person you’re discussing it with”

in every second thread.

PLAY NICE!

it is hilarious how people rag on Patrick when he does more to support the Phoenix in a month than most of those who bag him have done since 2007.

I'd be worried if you thought I had credibility tbh.

Fudge me, the vitriol and bitchy comments on these forums are getting more and more by the day. We all have the same credibility on these forums as everyone else, we're all just fans of our terrible, wonderful football club. Argue about football based things, but it's wanky when everyone gets tetchy and personal. As a fan base divided we are weak, united we're still farken weak but its not quite as bad right

There is only one way to stop the negativity...for the team on the field to start winning friggen games. Two left, two wins, big push during the off season and then start next season off by winning games. Who knows, even some fans might come back. Blame the team, not the fans. Fans are just frustrated with the bullshark going on on the field. The only good news in the last month is whilst some were away on international duty, their replacements stood up to be counted and did well.

Pretty benign criticism even if you could call it criticism. You read worse directed as various players about how they play or what type of player the writer thinks they are. Its not like my comment was out of the blue or that I didn't back up what I said with my reasons for my view. No one [including Ryan and Patrick] have come up with anything that provides any discourse the reasons I put forward - how about trying that instead of getting all cry baby and giving everyone a medal for participating.

Unless anyone has reason to believe that Patrick and Ryan are point forward a Des and Greenie type bid together for the head coaching roles at the nix, then it doesn’t belong in here.

Having a go at people personally also isnt really acceptable (although does happen in the heat of the moment). Just make a conscious effort to discuss issues without getting personal please. We are all here to support the nix.

Any more posts along these lines will be hidden in an effort to get the thread back on track to being on topic.

"United We Stand" by the Brotherhood of Man (1970 song)

Club song of Christchurch United during their glory days in the National League in the 1970's and 1980's.

Possibly a special version of the song recorded by the likes of Ray Wolf?

Didn't do the team or their supporters any harm in those days as it blared ourt over the loud speakers before games....

Ah, the good old days at QEII Stadium when hair was longer and people nicer...

"For united we stand. Divided we fall
And if our backs should ever be against the wall
We'll be together, Together, you and I."

Don't they play that nonsense at one of the Melbourne clubs' games?

Pass.

Three for me, and two for them.

We're sooo much better than most of the aussie forums. I blame the players etc. for breaking pax footballia and getting us talking about something other than football.

I'll be pleased when we finally appoint a new coach and all the 'unpleasantness' on this forum can fade away. Unless the club appoints someone who is not universally admired, or no one has ever heard of. But what's the odds of that happening? Nah! ;)

Permalink Permalink

Didn't the Nix talk about having a new coach in place by the end of the season? Well, as we're not going to make the playoffs, our season is done and dusted in a few days. Coach, anyone?

That happens all the time in the business world, but surely with the crisis facing the club, management had a Plan B ready to roll if Plan A fell over. I really hope it wasn't a case of back to the drawing board, wasting time we don't really have. It's not as if there weren't a whole bunch of competent candidates floating around, most of whom have been discussed and dissected on this forum.

Last report I had they were talking to references and people who had worked with their final candidates before a decision.

So they've talked to Greenie about Des?

In all seriousness, fact checking is good and I hope we can get someone who is worthwhile and knows the A-League landscape well enough.

I had a chat with Greenie today. He is such a likeable guy. I wish it would work for him. Perhaps this Saturday if he motivates the lads with a "Do it for Rusty" type speech, it might work.

I think he did that speech last game! Maybe this week it will be do it for yourselves or it's your last game!

Does anyone have an idea of the names floating around?

An interim manager an technically be in charge of a team for 1 calendar year I'm told. So lets stick with Greenie until 10 games to go, Bin him and then hire him again on an interim basis.

Problem solved.

He might be a likeable guy, but he not squeezing any results out of the players, I hope we get someone who can do this.

This

Everyone could see that Darjie was not working out.....even way back before Xmas. It was on the cards that he would not finish the season. It seems like the Nix muppet management team were the only ones not to see this unfolding. It appears they did not even have a plan A.

So here we are once again. For the third time Greenie has been parachuted in to take over as interim coach during the season. For the third time there is not a contingency plan for the coaching succession. For the third time we will recruit someone in the off season who will not have a clue about the players they have taken over. How often do we have to repeat this stuff before our owners realise that our club management is incompetent.

I agree with what you are saying, but is #domeout the way to go? as it keeps being pointed out he is the general manager not the CEO so he is more likely to be carrying out decisions than making them. Rob Morrison is the man in charge, why won't he talk to the media? Even if he just gave some business waffle I'd be happier with that than the silence we get now.

What are his aims for our club? what can we do better. There is no reason things can't be turned around, look at the Warriors, but the silence is becoming deafening and that is the biggest worry

Perhaps because employment law is a thing, and Darije clearly dug his heels in and refused to stand aside? From what the Nix were saying in February it seemed pretty clear that this was the case.
