Unlikely. Killen's problem is that he thinks he's better than he actually is, and until he realises this, I doubt he will come here.

Actually no,not the thread for it. sorry.

Honestly think that this is a very good signing. I see some people complaining about lack of pace because of his age  - so what? That isn't what he is there for. All he needs to do is hold up the ball well and play in the likes of Leo, Caceres, Ifill and Greenie. That is what we have been missing. He doesn't even need to play well and score heaps of goals - we have other players to do that. Coupled with the fact it's just until the end of this season at this point and I think it's a terrific bit of business.

Expect to see 2 up top with Ifill and Leo/Caceres on the wings.

Totally agree. Dadi is the piece we have had missing all season, he's a big guy, good in the air. If you Youtube him you see he has scored lots of goals with headers....we have spent the whole season putting crosses into midgets. Finally we have someone who can pose a threat in the air. He rounds the squad out nicely. He might not play ever minute of every game but he will be a positive contribution.

We have sterngthened our side while other clubs have been weakened by losses. Now there is talk of potential Socceroo's leaving to get play up to the WC. We have lots of home games. We are playing lots of games against teams from the lower half of the league. We have a fit squad.
Now is the time for the lads to do the business. it should be a very interesting 6 weeks coming up.

Important thing was to just get him for the remainder of this season - we got that bit. And for this, I think this is a very low-risk, high-reward move.

From what I recall, he's got great goal-scoring instincts and technique. In one game, he latches onto a cross at exactly the right time, launching a powerful cross into the goal (a 3-3 draw against Newcastle), and then against us at the ROF last season, he powers a strike home to give the Glory a 1-0 lead (later 1-1, as Flappy Velaphi saves Bertos' shot to deny us the win). And from set-piece, he is another threat, and makes us more dangerous with that heading power he has.

I don't mind picking up seconds of other A-League clubs, as long as they fit us. With Caceres, I actually thought it was too much of a muchness, but he has proven me wrong so far. Reddy came at just the right time, Crowther is a little young and makes my heart flutter every time the ball goes near him, whilst Dadi will be more than Johnny ever was.

Desperate times demand desperate actions...roll on Saturday and a big crowd. Its make or break now and he may well help the Nix make it.  Just hope he gets to te penalty area quick enough with Leo and Troy skipping down the sidelines quickly.

You are a true artist good sir.

I am excited about this. Always excited about a new signing, especially someone like Dadi, I always felt entertained watching him play, but we'll see how he does with the phoenix, we'll see. Guess he won't get game time for 2 or so matches, seems only logical, needs to get a feel with the team.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Last season, in Perth against, he got stretchered off then came back on straight away then scored a goal. Oh well, I used to think differently of Reddy too.

LOL the Glory boys are just as excited bout getting rid of him as YF is bout getting him! He was my favourite player last season and didn't get a look in this season.... Is the leading goal scorer in the youth league(for perth)...

Think you need to come up with a different chant as we used "who's your Dadi" and so have a couple of his old clubs... I was standing in the shed when Glory smashed Jets on Boxing day, Five guys along side of me took their shirts off and started the "shirts off for the boys" I started "your not the F**ckin phoenix" and we drowned them out pretty quick!

Dadi is a lot slower this year. But your service from the wings should be to Dadi's favour, rather than the oodles of crap balls that we service our forwards with.

Its 50/50 on how he will go, but he is worth the risk.

"Dadi, Dadi Cool" is the way to go I think.

Or maybe:

He's big,
He's bad,
He's better than his daddy,
Eugene Dadi,
Eugene Dadi.

Oh sh*t did you come up with that one all by yourself?

I want to see the guy on the paddock first before I start getting all man crush about it.

1: He wasn't getting a run at Perth
2: At 36 he wont be in his prime
3: This signing finally spells the end of Costa as a striker because if Ricki had faith in the boys' potential, then we wouldn't have signed Dadi. Its only going to take minutes away from the young kid and for once, I'm not in favour of that.

Costa and Dadi are two very different players. If Ricki wanted some one to be fast then he'd pick Costa. But he wanted a target-man and finally he has got one.

agreed, I dpn't see dadi replacing costa per se, costa might struggle to get in the lineup now just simply due to numbers, but Dadi adds a new height element to pur very short and nimble attack.

Costa will always struggle when hes small and light and without experience to make up for his physical shortfalls. This is why Greeny can do what he does and be small and light. A catch 22 for Barbauseless unfortunately and another good reason for having a youth team or a team in the national league.

Agree that they are two very different players and Dadi maybe of more use than Costa as a target man type of player.

we must get a youth team or a development squad team in either the youth A - league or one in the NZ comp, for next season!
