He's agricultural. ( plays in gumboots) Lacks skill and any finesse.
Not good under pressure and has limited field vision.
He gave me too many " what the f%&k was that"  moments.
Seriously think we could do better but at the moment of priorities lay elsewhere.

We could always do better. Is not like we have the best 11 players in the world. Bugs me when people say that, its illogical
No one said " we have the best 11 players in the world" even thinking thats relevant is illogical.
Don't give in and 'settle for' so easily.
Not wanting/expecting more bugs me.

You forgot ball-watching.

I agree with paullt.. Dodd was a cut above in our back four...he was strong, composed and while not our best paymaker can still hit a good pass (just not free kicks!). For the Siggy fans out there I think Siggy has the physicality but not the skill of Dodd. On the other hand I think Durante has better feet but is not as physical as Dodd. In a league like the A League Dodd is a great CB; you need someone combative to take the legs off an Archie or Shane.

since when has Dodd had skill you muppet...mayeb you are watching his under 11 videos???? guessing that you think we shoudl sign Devine a former knights player for his goal scoring ability ???

He doesn't have skill, but at sometimes he does good things..

I wasn't too impressed when he went to clear the ball up the pitch but it ended up going through the aisle 21 tunnel.
Thats All.
I like him, he has some shocking moments but he did also score the winning goal in Gosford, so that cancels it all out for me.

+ 1, he does is job, and has plenty of admirers (Moss and Aloisi have said what a great player he is, and the general opinion on here is that we need to keep him).

He's solid as a rock.

I just cannot believe how many people have replied to this post.
As I have said before-- he may be the best central defender we have. However that does not mean anything.
I have watched him play in Qld for years and not once did he play central defender. He was a right back, and not a bad one. All I am saying is, of all the central defenders in the A league, he is the worst. So if you are happy to have the worst central defender in the league, then OK, but I am not.

He might have been a right back once, but he isnt up to standard to play there in the league today. His best option is at centre back, where he did the job ok for us.

To call him the worst in the league is an exaggeration, there are plenty who didnt even get on the field as much as he did. He is good enough to retain his place as a solid squad player in his position.

We could do better for sure, but that isnt our priority at present, it is the 3 up front ahead of him that we need, and of course 1 more behind him

Wouldn't you have to put Durante in there too if Dodd and Siggy can keep him out of the team and rightly so....

Can you please just explain this to me - how can Dodd 'may be' the best central defender we have, and yet be the worst central defender in the whole league?

I'm sorry, but I can't follow that logic.

. Is right. Dodd is good enough for this team, in my opinion.

Yeh a BIG thanks Karl, you did an excellent job, and you showed how to play with 100% commitment to those who needed an example.

All the best Doddsy, hope this is a sign of an overseas contract

I'm pretty sure he left because of Feverish.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

cheers karl, you did a good job, always giving 110 % in the backs, not sure about the midfield but a supurb defender.
good luck with the future.

What a load of rubbish. Moss, Smeltz and now Dodds - our 3 best players by a mile and no sign of any replacements. I already fear for the coming season and could REALLY do with some good news Mr Pignata.

Dodd was a solid, good player.  Sometimes his fitness and (apparent) attitude worried me but he gave his best for the Phoenix and even picked up a good goal.  Wish him all the best for the future and I seriously hope Ricki and Tony had anticipated this and got another defender lined up.

Sad to see him go. A whole-hearted performer at the back and was one of the stand-out players last season after he was finally moved from the midfield.
