Cool, he hasn't even had a game yet and you've written him off. Who cares if the MV supporters think it's funny? I personally don't know a single MV fan so I can't say I'll be terribly affected by this.
FWIW I just had a MV fan I know on Twitter tell me that he's a good coach, and a good pick for us in the absence of a better kiwi option. Not that it matters, but I found it interesting.

Low risk option, so no surprise. Has A League track record, A League knowledge of existing players etc is critical, so no season long induction period required. The club could not afford that. No previous player ties that I know of (outside Hernandez) means he can make truly independent assessments of current roster.

To be honest, i'm underwhelmed by the appointment, BUT, he is a good coach, has a good track record, and im excited to see what he brings to the team.
I'm willing to give him a season and let the results be the judge.
