Surely there'd more pay in it now, given he's proven (to an extent) and the wage bill is lightened considerably. It will come down to who the new coach is

fans want him.

I don't think the club changing too much is an issue.  As a [potential] professional, he'd want to ensure that

a) his wages will go through in time and

b) the coach holds him in high regard.

Other than that, I don't any player really cares where he goes in this day and age.

All of the above is moot if the reasons he left in the first place still remain.

Would love him back, but football still needs to come second to whatever issues he has that remain and keep him in NSW.

Some issues are sorted but some others (as I understand it) mean that he probably needs to stay in NSW for the near future. I was told the club are definitely still in touch and would have him back in a heartbeat if it was practical.

Surprised I didn't know about this earlier, but Gui Finkler got a very respectable gig at Juventude in the Brazilian Serie B in early February - a very strong league, where his team did well to finish 9th out of 20 the previous season.

Unfortunately he was just released without playing a Serie B game, before the actual season started. He did play in the state league however (each state in Brazil has a separate league that runs alongside Serie B), where he featured against huge teams like Internacional and the current Copa Libertadores champions/CWC runners up Gremio. Also grabbed a couple of games in the Copa do Brasil playing against Serie A opposition.

Certainly a bit of a step up from us, and it shows, with him getting released only two months later...

Ray Gatt now saying the reports are off the mark.

He was the brains doing the training sessions when we were making the finals, whilst Ricki was the figure head coach. I rate Trani even if I am no expert. I watched quite a few of the sessions and he was a good motivator and an inovator.

I wonder if this web site and forum would be rebranded and still run on other subjects?

If I were the mods, I would close the whole thing down and trash it, just to spite all the people who've had a go at them over the last 11 years

They can't shut this site down... I have come to rely on the angst as a support crutch as a NZ football fan. Not sure how I could cope without it!

It would probably shut down, it costs a bit to run this site and it is all run by the sales of the tees and scarfs (and from Cool Moves thanks for their sponsorship). So unless another money stream was found, I'm not sure this would continue if the Nix weren't to continue.

Would need to set up a knitting circle on Reddit I suppose

You could go on to the Northern League forum, it's a wretched hive of pseudonymous scum and villainy

You don't need a forum for 2 people, that's a SMS conversation

When he left us for City, he said he wanted to spend more time with his young family in Melbourne & has a business in the construction industry there iirc. So doubt he would leave Melbourne again & Victory are not after fullbacks/DMs, so it was pretty obvious he would have to drop down to the NPL to keep playing.
