I wonder how he would've fitted in our team  this season.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Wow didn't see that coming.

Thought he was enjoying himself there and had scored the odd goal too...strange for someone to leave half way through a season like that.

Free transfer by the looks of it.

Must have left a good impression in Poland.

Always looked like a guy with potential. But, got a few injuries while here and we arguably never found the right spot for him.

I think we knew his spot if you mean position and he certainly played enough games for us to decide if he was any good.

He was average

Our current midfielders are  far superior

Agree on the first point but I don't think Rufer/Devlin/Wilson are superior; defensively, yeah, but not in every other aspect.

I was thinking more of our import then Wilson

Dylan Fox and weemac seem on the outer at CCM, neither getting very many minutes. Both out of contract and if you're not playing for a team like CCM you'd be hard pressed getting a gig somewhere better.

I think Foxy still has plenty to offer in the A League

I heard they weren't playing him as they didn't want to trigger an extension.

Fox seems to be one of those players who just cant seem to ge tot the next level. Shame because at times he has looked as if he could be a useful A league player.Dont think its to late for him yet would love to see him do a Siggy.

Do you mean by that they'd hire just about anyone from China?

Maybe not exactly everyone but someone who had already played in Spain (check) and has a professional in half decent leagues (MLS, a league, Finland.. Check).
Maybe they're trying to get some attention for the club or incentivise the local Chinese population to go to games. Speculation of course but what other reasons would they haven to sign someone that old, who had already retired and let's be frank... Who was well below average in his prime

Roy Krishna:

Indian Super League final this weekend which Roy Krishna and David Williams ATK team are part off (short season of 18 regular season games then the play-off games). Roy only signed a one year deal - do any of you see him returning to the A-league any time soon?

Nope looks like he has become a bit of a fan favorite and looks like he is enjoying himself, I expect him to get another deal over there for another year

He is captain, equal top goalscorer in the league on 15 and has 5 assists as well. He's a massive star over there and is on great coin, would be surprised if we saw him in the A-League again as much as I'd love him back. In a Q & A the other week Willo said that he was definitely keen on staying with ATK which would surely only increase the likelihood of Roy signing on for more seasons, especially considering they work so well together up top and seem to be really close off the pitch too.

Obviously wouldn't happen but you'd have to think we'd be a dark horse for winning the thing if we got him back on a short term contract. Imagine Hooper and Krishna with Ball and Davila in behind, Piscopo, McCowatt and Sotirio off the bench - that's a deadly attack.

Sounds like he's signed-on for another year with ATK.

I wonder if we could have him on loan (as a guest player). ATK don't strike me as a club that needs money, but we could pay part of his salary perhaps?

Anyway, this won't happen but it would be so good if it did.

Krishna, Mandi & Williams get a winner's medal the ISL title overnight with a 3-1 over Chennaiyin. Matched was played behind closed doors.

Congratulations to them all.

Bit of a shame a country of that size only has an 18 game season though...

Williams and Roy got the assists for the first two goals. Roy went off in the 40th minute, replaced by Mandi who in turn was subbed off in the 84th.

Given WU have stood down their players, seems to be a rather ignominious end to Durantes playing career.
