Want to see more from Elliott to try and justify his place in this team; not sure I've seen it yet.

I can see that. I liked Hicks as a squaddie. I think Devlin is slightly more nippy on the ball and not as good tracking back

We've dropped off a bit over the last 5 mins; getting a little tired.

Devlin reminds me of Hicks

To my untrained drunken eye, he has been pretty good so far, made a few good tackles and good intensity.

Good fightback from the lads! Must have been a little disheartening going down a 2nd early in the second half, so have shown some ticker to get back into it.

Just sneakily, I would not be too disappointed if this one went to extra time, get a few more minutes in the legs.

I would also just like us to win another game in the FFA Cup too...

Ball seems to be a decent acquistion. Not reading too much into it all though, being the first competitive game of the season and all, but some solid signs for what lies ahead.

I'd rather not have it go to extra time and get injuries tbh

McCowatt really looking dangerous out there. Really come into his own in the second half - thought he was quite poor in the first.

we had three injuries before kick off, not sure another 30 minutes is going to be that bad.

I think Ball has had a few chances to show a bit of extra quality and he hasn't done it

I like his hard work but he's tracking back too much for a guy who's our focal point - waste of energy

Looks like he's inherited Burns' squad number and shooting boots. I'm sure there's a bunch of goals in him though

they'll need the extra time to run it off.

Did you expect him to be quick? Taylor would've got done there too. The perils of having slow, aging CBs.

Strikers on top. We look stuffed.

Most CBs v pacy wingers in the A-League would look like that, to be fair. Dura would've. Siggy would've. Taylor would've. I don't understand everyone crapping on DeVere for that; did you expect him to be fast?

a.haak

So long as De Vere's positioning is good enough that the through balls are played out wide i'm ok with that so long as we have the other players tucking in to cover etc.

They play the full 30 mins even if someone scores don't they?

Much better 2nd half. Though Strikers should have won it with either of those two chances in the last six mins.

C'mon Nix.
