Unsuitable for day/night ODI matches. No lights. Can't hold enough people.

...enough people? Pah! They'd only need a ground capacity of about A HUNDRED.   *grumbling unreasonably*....
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Wow, this is not nearly as bad as I thought it could be. Pretty satisfied with that I think. Not everything going our way (holiday games etc) but overall I think it could definitely be a lot worse.

Reckon Napier might still be a chance to host a game.

First CWC game there is 4 March. Shane Harmon suggested that most stadiums have a 2-3 week clear zone before their games. 3 weeks would mean 11 February.

1st home away game is 14 Feb.

HamilTron has its rectangular stadium available during CWC.

The real one - an early game at the Basin. Shock horror and history!

Even better Mt Smart game of origin. AFC boycoot?

What is wrong with a 3pm game at the Basin anyway? Be nice to see the ground full for once.

decent question actually. I know its not ideal but surely preferable to having 80 days between games in Wellington. Sadly I suspect the answer is that Welnix would prefer the 3 games to be outside of Wellington.

Probably logistical reasons why the basin is unsuitable too - but none that I know of.

Actually, if the club want to save some money in travel etc and wish to more firmly establish a true fan base here, this is exactly where they should play those three games. Tiki Touring achieves naf all overall. Sorry but that is the way it is. rather have 9k in a full basin looking full than 9k in Eden park or Forsyth Stadium and looking 3/4's empty. I think it is time the Nix really to need to start claiming back the local fans that have drifted away for various reasons.

And don't worry about the parking.

How about Trafalgar park in Nelson? Couldn't get any less of a crowd than places like Napier, Dunedin, Palmy... and still pretty close to wellington.

The Tron should definitely get a Saturday game. Toss up between Dunners, Napier, New Plymouth, Nelson for the other Saturday game. The Sunday game really needs to be in Palmy, so we can travel en mass for that.

A game in the tron would be awesome. The pitch there is amazing. I heard a quote from one of the under 20 world cup exc's stating that it was the best turf he'd seen, which maybe a bit of smoozing but nevertheless.

Could get a good crowd and town is super close.

Im in.

If the Sunday one ends up being Palmy. Maybe the club need to talk to TranzMetro about running the Capital Connection up for the day.

Nov. 30 home game v Melbourne City

Seems Melbourne will be fielding Villa, Duff and Lampard now.

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c...

Would actually be highly entertaining if the Nix beat them - considering the difference of some several millions of dollars in transfer fees between the two squads....

Villa (Guest stint) - Outside cap & visa rules

Duff (1 year deal) - Inside Cap and uses visa spot

Lampard (Short term loan) - International marquee spot, outside cap but uses visa spot.

Hutt Rec had room for 6k for the All Blacks I think? Biggest problem would be the broadcasting facilities
