Personally think they should just make all tickets the same price. Say $45 each across the board. Done.

Too late, alas.

It was poorly worded then:

"Renewing your Wellington Phoenix Membership means you will have first option to purchase tickets to both of the Football United tour matches and receive exclusive discounts. Foundation members will receive one ticket complimentary per Foundation membership (you need to opt in to receive this after renewing your membership). Your exclusive renewal period runs until Monday 12 May, 2014."

Although I don't really care and am happy to buy a ticket.

Foundation members DO get a free ticket to the Newcastle or West Ham game. It's Club Members that only get a free ticket to an a league game

All you budding hammers (or even those who are neutral but up for a good sing & a laugh!) feel free to follow us on facebook & twitter and get amongst the rowdiness.

There will be a BIG away crowd from West Ham. We have the Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney & Adelaide Hammers coming over. Definitely a couple hundred at least.

I note too that they YF will have the sun in their eyes and probably missed half of the game as a result. They should have been put at the other end of the ground with the sun at their backs so to speak. You are soooo right about the Rugby Crowd. Our last game up there, we had a father and son beside us and they were obviously Rugby fans. They sat until they figured out everyone around them was standing. To their credit they lasted 37 minutes of our singing etc before they moved elsewhere. I mean what do you expect when you buy your ticket in the middle of "The Zone"? Perhaps they'ved moved the zone because the local rugby fans got pissed at missing their normal seats?

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Is this official?  I can't find any confirmation of total number of tickets we can buy.  On the site I put 100 in the basket and it had no problems so wondering if there's no restriction?

Currently in negotiations with the wife for the NZ game and the tour games.

So far I'm promising a lot, but the other side seems reluctant to make a deal, something to do with a lack of trust in ones performance and ability to carry out said promises!!

I hope this isn't a silly question but when I go to look at tickets, it says silver tickets are $75 but then if I log in and go in to renew my season ticket and then buy additional tickets, they still show as $75. I thought season ticket holders got a 25% discount?

Third point isn't correct. More than likely you'll get in the zone. Just a question of where.

It's still left to chance a bit though. Plus those renewing who don't know silver is feverzone may end up buying bronze. Which is a bit odd. Hoping they can add an official fever zone like we do usually with nix games, before public sales. And perhaps give members the option to move into fever zone if they have bought extra silver tickets and ended up outside of fever zone by bad luck.

There is now a map up which shows the Fever Zone. Public Sale will have these areas specified.
Great idea, will ensure we feed that back.

COMPETITIVE PRICES FOR ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES IN NEW ZEALAND

The Wellington Phoenix are determined fans won’t be priced out of the Football United Tour with ticket prices starting at $35 for adults and $16 for a child at Westpac Stadium and Eden Park.

At Westpac Stadium fans will get to see two games, each featuring an English Premier League club, with one also involving the Phoenix.

Phoenix General Manager David Dome says the Club wanted to make the games as affordable as possible.

“There are significant costs associated with bringing out English Premier League teams, but we are a small club determined to aim high and that’s what we have done,” Dome said.

“Regardless of our costs, we have tried to price the games as competitively as possible to enable as many New Zealanders as possible to be a part of a unique event and to reward our loyal members.

“Wellington Phoenix Foundation Club members – those season ticket holders who have been with us every season since the start – will get a free ticket”.

“Season 14/15 Season Ticket holders and Club Members will get the opportunity to buy tickets at a good discount and spread the payments until July.

“An adult season ticket holder can see two EPL teams on one day for $35 and a child for $16.

“That’s unbelievable value that is unmatched for two English Premier League sides anywhere in the world!

“It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see two EPL teams in action on the same ground against different opposition.

“That is certainly a first for the southern hemisphere and extremely rare elsewhere.

“It is cheaper than going to an All Black test match”

The Phoenix will also play in Auckland and for that game, against West Ham United at Eden Park, the public can buy a ticket for $35.

Club Members also have the ability to buy tickets at a discount for that match as well.

The Forsyth Barr match, which is a joint venture with Dunedin Venues, has also been priced extremely sharply.

Terry Davies, Dunedin Venues CEO, says that Forsyth Barr stadium is also very keen to price the Newcastle United v Sydney FC competitively.

“We have ensured that the ticket prices will be affordable for all but also recognising the high calibre of the teams involved and quality football we’re expecting” Davies said.

“Prices will range from $25 - $69 for adults, $15 for children and a specially priced family package, 2 adults and 2 children at $80 – less than half price in premium seating.

“We believe these competitive prices will see the south turn out in their numbers for this outstanding match. Dunedin will be the first venue in NZ to host a top tier English side in 20 years.

“This match is an added fixture to the Forsyth Barr Stadium members’ event calendar and in recognition of their continued support, we will be offering all members free entry to the match.”

On sale dates:

Wed 30 April – Wellington Phoenix Membership Renewals open (Members can acquire Football United tour tickets as part of membership renewal).

Wed 30 April – Priority waitlist for non-members to acquire tickets opens to receive names.

Mon 12 May – New Wellington Phoenix Membership sales open (option to add on Football United tour tickets)

Fri 16 May - Waitlist pre-sale, NZ wide Football Family pre-sale (Football Clubs), Phoenix Partners pre-sale (Auckland & Wellington), my Ticketek pre-sale

Mon 19 May – General Public sale starts (Auckland & Wellington).

Wed 21 May – Dunedin match on public sale.

Tues 22, Wed 23 & Sat 26 July – Football United Tour Matches.

Somewhere earlier it was stated (maybe from thunderstix?) that if you're found to have purchased tickets without renewing your membership, your tickets will be cancelled. The way I read that is that the ticketek system wouldn't stop you from making the purchase, but someone will go through later and double check everyone's tickets. So if you're buying those without intending to renew you might be taking a bit of a risk.

You're right on your points above. To ensure we offer this to you guys first, there's some manual parts which will be done by administration - which also serves as a double check on areas of purchase.

$75 in Silver (including YF Zone) is with the discount as there are only tickets on sale for members currently. That seat will cost a member of the public around $100 in Wellington.

Damn straight. After two (three) games at Eden Park where we (I/News/Dale) spent most of our time trying to explain to locals that standing up was what we did, and that sitting in our actual seats was not what we did, we thought it was better to retreat to a proper fan location behind a goal.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

it says Foundation mbrs can unselect the club membership part (so they aren't overcharged $30) - but that is is not possible..

Ticketek just called me back from yesterday - they are still to confirm with Nix but say they understand the Foundation member price will be the same as the season member price, but including a free Football United ticket for Foundation members.  They will correct the website pricing as soon as they confirm with Nix.  It sounded like that was the one thing they hadn't sorted yet.
And yes, four extra tickets can be bought for Welly, 8 for Auckland.  Seating is allocated at your members seat for your own ticket and the others automatically allocated as best available, but he was saying they will ring regarding those to agree final seating.

I just want to correct you here, before others get the wrong idea. It's a total of four tickets you can purchase for Wellington, which includes your own ticket. Not four tickets on top of your own ticket.

Yes - Foundation member pricing is the same as the season ticket price, but you receive the Premium Club Membership. Pricing on the Ticketek site is being updated.

Seems the games might only be on Pay-Per-View in NZ.

Wouldn't get many takers for pre-season friendlies on Pay-Per-View in UK or Europe.

And I don't think they'll get many here either. Seems a mistake if they do - wouldn't make much money.

I wouldn't pay the extra on top of my Sky sub. I don't know any other football fans who would either.

Overseas rights already sold (won't be on Pay-Per-View over there no doubt):

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/9994746/Risk-and-reward-for-Wellington-Phoenix-group

"The Phoenix are still working on the New Zealand broadcast deal but Dome said rights had been sold into most of Asia, Europe, North America, the UK and Australia."

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11247030

"One of the obstacles we've found with Sky TV and the Hyundai A-League is everything's live in Wellington so you can just sit at home on the couch and watch the game. With pay-per-view, if you're going to spend $40 why don't you just buy a membership and you can get the whole ticket for $35.''

I'd watch the games on TV but not on Pay-Per-View.

I could travel to Dunedin from Christchurch to see Sydney FC v Newcastle - but "Yeah. Nah."

Just not attractive enough to make the effort. If it was the Nix playing Newcastle I'd seriously consider it.
