Okay, I've been wanting to say this since the game on Sunday, 'cept I was in Perth and had no access to a PC. So this has been brewing since sunday as I walked out of M.E stadium 9if you can call it that). I am sick and tired of being positive and hopeful about the and then being disappoined as they simply don't turn up to play on gameday! Easch week we go on about how its time for them to show up and match our entusiasm and I'm still waiting to see it. This season started with the management saying that we turned up last season for the boys, this season they will return the favour, personally I'm starting to doubt that at all! Looking at the perth game, noone appeared keen to play. Hearfield looked bored most of the game, an put little to no effort in when "chasing" the ball, Gao was virtually missing most of the game, Smeltz seemed to spen all his time out on the wing chasing the ball and getting nowhere, the one shot he had was tired and mistimed. With no support for him up front we are screwed. Defensively we looked once again tired and bored with it all, far too many lazy tackles, and bad decisions.
After reading the comments from Coveney and the fact he may be gone next season, leaving only Draper and Smeltz as strikers, i'd be suggesting that we may lose Smeltz too, he's off contract and I'd say unless we start winning then he'll be gone well before the season ends.

I'm sadly dissapointedby this season, and how the boys are looking. They'd better show up this sunday and play a hell of a lot better or the season is over for us!

Is he out of contract now or contracted until the end of the season? I thought it was latter. If so, he can start talking to other clubs in January about signing for them once his Phoenix contract expires, but he can't leave before then.

were you watching the same game us I was???? His first chase of the ball was lazy as! no effort, the one time he was in front of goal with a decent opportunity and heaps of time, he gives us a lazy effort and misses the ball, sh*te.

yes i did watch the game. he put in the whole game with some good runs on and off the ball. yes he made a meal of that one chance. but i don tthink it was lazy. ppl do make mistakes..i feel his positives this week and the  last 4 weeks outweigh that one incident.

whatever, i personally think he's been caught napping a number of times.

As for Smeltz, he comes off contract this season, which means he can be approached as early as October (???????) so I've heard anyway. If I was him I'd be looking elsewhere if the Nix's form continues. He has ties family in Adelaide and I'm sure the new franchises will  be looking for a decent striker.

Whoohoo - the joys of ACC sick leave!

Sat on the sofa - leg up - flask of tea, morning full of champions league, afternoon full of the Phoenix, intermittent Last.fm to fill the gaps.
