I went to buy my seats and found out they'd been upgraded to GOLD zone so would be $50 each. So bought tickets on the other side of the aisle for $35.
And I thought today was supposed to be members only that could buy tickets, and general ticket sales weren't on sale till Wednesday, but my mate who's not a season pass holder bought 6 tickets today from ticketek Station Metro New World. What's the advantage of 'pre-sales' for members if non-members can buy them too??

Haha. Nope he didn't use any number. Come to think of it I wasn't asked for mine either.

Foolishly looking ahead. If the phoneix win this week and GCU loose. Then the week after there will be nz vs Aussie 20 20 on Friday, hurricanes vs lions on Saturday, and thus th only day left phonix vs Newcastle on Sunday. just thought it was interesting

Scoop - There are no fixtures on the weekend of 28 Feb. The Quarter Final (let's call it what it is) between the winners of 3/6 and 4/5 is taking place on Sunday 7 March.

Managed to get our normal seats in Aisle 25 by turning up at 9.05 at the Ticketek agency in Porirua this morning, along with 10 more next to us, for people who have seldom/ever been to a game before - this is a good sign of potential final numbers being well up there I hope! Now just got to get them all to join in with making a noise!

It would appear that unlike the website, the ticketek system was not prompting for account numbers at ticketet outlets, the girl in the Phoenix shop was therefore, writing down the account number of everyone that was buying tickets.
My only ticketing angst was that she did not believe my account number, as it's only in the low 3 digits (from buying as season ticket in S1 the week they went on sale), said it should be 4 numbers. I didn't think I would actually need my physical season pass just to present a easily remembered 3 digit number - anyway, got my ticket in the end!
So I wouldn't be too surpised if there are people, up and down the country who are not season pass holders buying tickets, as the system is not prompting for them, and probably only the Phoenix shop has staff that know that todays sales are supposed to be for season ticket holders only.

Phoenix store has run out of paper to print tickets onto... amateurs.
Went up to MFC where they are checking all membership numbers and purchased a block of 12 in row P&Q... PAX 3131.

Someone I know, who shall remain nameless, was sold six tickets (not four!) with a made up season ticket number at the WPX store at about 1pm today.
Another Feverite, who you can hear on tomorrow's PODCAST, had to wait 20 minutes when the ticket printing machine broke down at the WPX store today about 11am.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Yeah there was pretty much no verification process on the ticketek website either, I simply typed in my season Acc no. from the card. I was thinking, aren't they just to keep track how many have been sold, I could potentially have used any number from 1 through to mine (around 7000), and how would they have known?
Bit of a shambles, but at any rate 3100 tickets sold if you believe the PAXs so no worries?

Phoenix + ticketek = ticket problems and confusion? Who'd have thought it!
Time to ditch these Ticketek mugs.

Well, the website seems to be doing it's bit (apart from the fact there is no mention of the game even on the Sports page of Ticketek), I just tried a couple of random 4 digit numbers and it didn't let me through.

I have a ticket already, so don't want to screw up someone else's number by getting it right!

Despite the fact the validation system is flawed, is it not a good sign that people are willing to use faux numbers to try and get early tickets? Certainly means there's a ton of interest.

I wish just for once someone was in control of Fever Zone tickets. I've had the same seat for 3 seasons, and luckily I got my same seat again today but only by ringing Ticketek. That's fine, at least I had to verify with my membership number.
But............ what fechs me off completely is the number of "theatre goers" who manage to infiltrate the zone and spend the whole feching time eating, texting, and generally facing the wrong way. The are cluelss muppets who can go to Aisle 12 (or whatever is as far away from the Fever Zone as possible) as far as I'm concerned.
It's all well and good getting a B I G crowd, but the uneducated masses should be well and truly barred from the Fever Zone. I'm there to watch the football, not be surrounded by twats in suits that take offence to us telling them not to throw bottles, and ask "which one's Dadi?"
Call me old fashioned... but I'm not alone with this opinion. Not verifying season holder IDs will only exarcerbate my annoyance. Maybe Telecom and Voda could scramble the network in the Zone and all the people more in terested in texting could move elsewhere!

Just rang up to book my ticket for the game and was a bit annoyed to find out that the FFA have decided that although my normal seat is a silver ticket for the finals it has been re assigned as a gold ticket hence a cost of $50, anyone else had this problem?

hmm. Spent $300 on flights already to get up to Welly and really don't want to miss out on zone tickets. As I live in chch this will only be my 3rd game of the season so don't have a season ticket. Was typing random membership codes into ticketek then got lucky. But now I don't want to screw up someone elses access to tickets. Really the ticketek system is in the wrong. Ticketek should force members to have passwords with there ID. As this system is easily broken............... Haven't used it yet but very tempted Drewy2010-02-15 15:25:44

Went into Ticketek in Welly at lunch and got 12 tickets, with 2 mates who have season tickets. We are in the row behind our season tickets which is great, Aisle 21, however I am a bit worried that you'll have average punters sitting around us, there is no way that we will be sitting down or keeping quiet. How Ticketek manages to continue to make themselves look this bad is amazing

My new theory for this seat nonsense, is that everyone from the forums should all take over one area, thus making banter-central and giving us security in numbers if some random is like, hey thats my seat, i demand you move!

It's not really Ticketek at fault here. It's the ridiculous way the FFA run the finals.
Other clubs have had the same angst in the last 4 years, just we're knew to it.

Possible that the PAX numbers are not linear across all branches.
But forum traffic would suggest that things are bubbling along.
Might have a few spare zone tickets if people get caught short, but not many. PM me if desperate (not you Greene).

Snap. My season tickets are on the fringes of the YF zone normally (seats 62-ish) and this time I got assigned 46-ish. I need to look on a map, but I suspect that's the other side of the entrance where there is usually all seated people.
With the need not to even be a season ticket holder to buy during the "season ticket holder only" sales phase, the non-enforcement of numbers of tickets bought, the inability to have first dibs at your own seat.... doesn't seem like there's any advantage in being a member. Add the angst from the NZ Phoenix going to ChCh/Akl/Palmy etc next season thread.... a bit of a slap in the face for being a member since day one, eh?

I really feel for all you long-term supporters being treated so poorly ahead of the biggest game in the club's short history. For the football family presale tomorrow we all got emailed a code, surely this could have happened with the member pre-sale. Hopefully it all works out on the day, and we get the win we all want.

Like I said with my earlier post, having non YF people in the Fever Zone really effs me off, so I empathise with regulars who cannot get into it......... and to anyone bucking the system and getting in to the zone............ you'd better behave !
"We're here to watch the football!", not eff around like giggling, texting girls.
