Oh and I see a bit of  angst about sales at the Nix shop earlier today .. I got mine from there at 2.30pm, no queues, good service and the machine was working fine! They checked season passes and we even got our regular seats and a couple more around them

um dont go being elitest. anyone is allowed to be in the zone, you are no more special than any other fan. people getting tickets today when its supposed to be members only sucks though. but blame the system, not fellow fans.

I have no problem with new people in the zone.  My challenge is that one of the advantages of a home match is that you get your crowd behind you, and the ability of the zone to create and lead that is seriously impacted if it's full of people who don't want to be part of the vocal support.

I think that is the point some others are making here as well.

meh, anyone in there is new to it and should know it is that sort of area. if seen many times people start like that and end up just as supportive as anyone else. the moment you start acting like you are better than other fans is the moment you start to lose them,or at least not gain any more. those people are possible future regulars to the feverzone, treat them as such. in my opinion anyway.

its generally accepted during the regular season that you can buy a ticket for a home match and sit anywhere you like (first in, first served), apart from the zone.
do people think this will be an issue if a big crowd turns up? will people continue with the trend of sitting wherever the hell they want or do you think people will actually take their correct seats?

It's interesting how people keep making the assumption that someone thinks they are better than any other.  That is in no way my point.  The difference here is familiarity, it's also that when people bought a ticket in the Fever Zone for the season they know how the zone works.

These people aren't worse than us, they are just unfamiliar with the systems and that makes it hard for the people familiar with it to behave as they normally do.  If you check this season you can identify certain games where the zone has been poor because a percentage of people at the heart of it aren't the people who were familiar with it.

Can someone clarify what the 'yellow fever zone' is classified as by the fever yourselves?
Permalink Permalink

I suspect the membership number system on the tickettek website is totally amateur hour. You can certainly playaround with a few likely numbers to get to the next page (this allows you to select tickets).... I doubt they're really tracking allocations using this- look to see lots of Yellow Fever tickets on TradeMe Shortly...

 Pax no now: 5215!

Membership no is not anywhere on the tickets, so there is no way they seem willing and/or able to cross-check this.

If i was you i'd be booking now...

i realise its harder etc. you just have to be careful is all im saying. if a newbie came on and read people complaining that there was going to be more people in the fz etc, they would think you/we are a bunch of pricks who think we are better than them. i know what you are saying,as it is true, but at the same time id rather as many people in the fz as they could be future regulars etc. its never usually that bad either unless you get drunken idiots treating it like the 7s. at the end of the day,the more people that get into it,the better,surely?Tegal2010-02-15 16:36:02

I can't seem to bypass the website "amateur hour" at all. :(
Looks like it'll be a Wednesday morning booking spree for me.

Tegal, the guy I got my ticket from is in Aisle 20 - it's definitely YF, and he definitely stands for the whole game.

We aren't better than anyone else...that's a ridiculous thing to suggest.
However, if you go to the Fever Zone and have a season ticket there, it's because you want the atmosphere and  be with the most loyal supporters who go there for every game, not to be next to some drunken suit wearing poser that's never been to a game before and doesn't even know who the players are (as was my experience last week). He was more interested in pulling the bird next to him, and talking about a new dvd he'd bought, then he had the cheek to hurl an empty beer bottle at someone.
I'll be a penny to a pinch of my dog's finest that there will be more like that in the Fever zone this week and they won 't come back if we lose.
I've had the same seat for 3 seasons, and although I've never really actually sat in it I love my seat (not to mention that I'm superstitious and won't give it up for anyone), so damn right I'll eject anyone trying to use it.
Geeze, perhaps I'm just not p.c. enough though huh?

Catch my drift?

I notice you can now send a TXT to stadium security for many reasons, not least that someone is in the seats you paid for.

The Fever zones a fun zone and most people click on quick enough if they're not keen on standing, singing or hearing profanity for 90 minutes then they head off somewhere else to watch the game. Most stick around and enjoy the experience though.

Don't know what gave you that idea - there are plenty of us season ticket holders, outside the YF zone, who expect to sit in the seats they have specifically chosen after researching; viewing angles, proximity to essential services, sun and rain cover etc.

Sit where you like - just don't sit in my seat.

The official fever policy, as listed in either the FAQ or the Rules states that if you are on someone elses ticketed seat then you are expected to move if they wish to be in the seat they puchased.

I was tempted to get Zone Tickets since I know the chants blah blah blah, But decided my mates don't which could potentially be annoying + I didn't want to steal someone on heres seat in the zone.

I'll be getting zone tickets if I can still get them on Wednesday (unlikely). Only sat elsewhere at the nix once, when someone else booked the tickets

I can understand all the angst about newbies in the zone but a few things to remember..

Today was a member only day - and while yes some non members got around this - due to a lack of validation at outlets, phone and website (why a unique code couldn't have been created one only knows)- they will be a minority.

Members are season ticket holders who more often than not actually go to games and even if they maybe are not in the zone and have tiks there this time they have a good idea of what goes on and will support the chants - isn't that what we actually want???

Any zone members had an equal chace to get tickets in zone if they or mates were organised enough. Sure some just couldn't get to an outlet/phone/web today but that is life - we did have 3 days notice of this.

This is new territory for us, the club and ticketek (ouch am I now defending them - though guy at fowler centre today was excellent and knew what he was doing) - lessons will be learned (members - get organised, ticketek/outlets sort out validation) and we'll all be happy when new bling lose, we win and we get another game..........

Just hope that any newbies in the Zone know what they're in for and what's expected of them. Hopefully not another ridiculous situation like David Beckham's Flying Circus, when half the zone was people sitting down complaining about the regulars standing.

Quite poor value really, I feel for those guys who couldn't get there seats. It does seem really stupid, I brought my tickets in the store and I had to show my membership but with online sales its not that hard to guess a 3 digit code! Really hope the zone is still pumping.

For the record, I got my tickets at 4pm sitting 7 across in Aisle 22 Row S. Bit far back but all good. Pax 5100! Should be a bumper crowd.

Well said chocnut..see you in aisle 22..pop down to row J maybe able to score some burgers for you....

maybe after today is over we can all step back a little, sigh a bit, and then look forward to our first finals game no matter where we are sitting/standing/singing/yelling...just like the AW game...

Presumably they will have been briefed by Season ticket holders on the protocol for FZ?

Going to get ours tonight if the interweb thingy is junior-friendly.  Rounded up a few extra bods today so will be utilising the extra allocations we have.

Well, the whole online ticketing thing from Ticketek is a great f**k-up.

I am assuming there will be Sweet FA tickets in the FZ for tomorrow morning now, which means the 6 people I have wanting tickets might not get near where they have been for the last few games :

Ticketek are just ramdomly dishing out tickets, I bought my four tickets earlier today but I just went on the website again to check for a mate, I logged in using the same number as before & could have got 4 more tickets in 22R row P. That was at 7.46pm. At 9.01 this morning the first tickets I was offered in the YFZ was Aisle 20L. WTF? removed those & got Aisle 22L row L. Surely it would be easier to allocate them from a central starting point & radiate out from that. As I have posted ALL season "TICKETEK ARE A BUNCH OF F*%KWITS". Hopefully next year Ticketmaster get a chance.
