How did you get through? I spent  nearly an hour trying - then had to stop do some work before I copped flak for spending client time chasing tickets, at which point I accepted the fringe tickets the website offers.

Does anyone else think having to play 3 knock-out games to make the final an excessive amount?

I think it's kind of balls that Melbourne/Sydney get another shot after playing each other twice and that the winner of Phoenix/Jets should go straight through rather than playing the runner up to make the final (I think this is right). I don't know, maybe I am just paranoid because it's such a big ask. What do you guys think of the finals set up?

Yeah but either Sydney or Melbourne will have to play 3 games to make the final, won't they?

Yeah that's true, good point and I suppose if you finish up the top of the table then you deserve it. It's just nerve racking stuff and it feels unfair but you're right, it's not really.
Tough road ahead though.

The A-league finals are just like the AFL finals: top two teams get one "life" while the next four have to play knock-out games. I think it's fair enough - Cold Goast getting knocked out upset enough people, imagine if the Jets had been able to knock out Sydney FC with just one game.

We can't go through to the final without playing 1st or 2nd - that would be wrong. Ultimately, the playoffs are a bit overkill. Having 6 teams from a 10 team league is way too much. If they want to reward the top 2 by having 1v2, with the loser facing a winner of 3v4 then I think that's okay - which is what we used to have. Otherwise, go conventional with 1v4 and 2v3 semis and then a final.

I don't want to buy 16 tickets, I just wanted to try putting loads of tickets in my basket until I could at least get offered some yellow fever tickets that are actually in the yellow fever zone.
 
It's like the website is filling the zone from outside in and with the extended parameters of the zone, that means basically playing dice with the zone selling out (buying late) or being with non-zone people (buying early).
 
Thanks for the advice all.  Though annoying I had to ring them after getting my first lot to get seats in the same spot.

Agreed. But being as they wanted 6 teams I think the system is the best possible with 6 teams.

Indeed. Because, as nicely as that would have been for setting up a proper KO tournament, not even the FFA could get away with doing 8 teams in the playoffs! Next year however...

Last time I was at the RoF I had an ezyTicket which involved putting a barcode into a scanner.

What happens with "traditional" mailed out tickets? Do they have a barcode on them or do they get "ripped" by a person at the gate?
