I wouldn't have thought this would be such a monumental, time consuming task.
You guys should interview Ernie or Domey about the scouting, transfer process. While they probably won't say who they are after it'd be interesting to see where they are searching for players.

There are some things you just take for granted though, like a team will wear their Home strip at Home

In another bumper episode the pod looks at the axing of fiveWellington Phoenix FC players, including foundation player Tony Lochhead, and assesses who will become our new scapegoat. Internationally, Mexico looks shaky in World Cup qualification, Tahiti brace for a shellacking at the Confederations Cup, and the Junior All Whites ship 10 goals in warm up matches. Plus it's Chatham Cup weekend so there is a full preview of Round 3 action including an interview with Island Bay United Association Football Club's James Prosser before their clash with Wellington Olympic AFC.
In The Zone 65 is out now and available at http://yellowfever.co.nz/podcasts.
In the longest pod so far, the team reflects on Ernie Merrick's first month in charge, the singing of Lewis Italiano, and the departure of Mal Impiombato. Internationally, Coliseum announce their arrival, Australia confirm their spot at Brazil 2014, and Junior All Whites' coach Chris Milicich dials in from Turkey. While back home, the team has New Zealand's most comprehensive round up of Chatham Cup action.
Only what we paid Totori to terminate his contract counts towards the salary cap.
That's what I thought too.
Thanks for your efforts lads, subscribe to quite a few podcasts, but yours (and the BYC from the Beige Brigade) are the two i pretty much play as soon as the appear on my phone...

Normo's coming home
Recorded the best POD ever... laptop crashed. Lost the lot.
FFS.
I hate my life right now.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Loved the interview guys - great that we have a way to voice the fever's thoughts with the people who matter

With not much to report in Wellington Phoenix FC land, the pod covers the Junior All Whites in the U20s World Cup, Andrew Durante's eligibility, and Coliseum Sports. While in a bumperChatham Cup section, the pod chats to Chris Kemp from New Zealand Football to talk illegal players and nails, and to Palmerston North Marist 's Simon Lees on their upcoming game against Napier City Rovers.
News was hoping that Coliseum had the Championship, according to Sommet they have the Championship (at least for next season) as well as The Football League, Bundesliga and a host of other leagues and cups.
I did ask them if they have a mechanism to watch the game of your choice when there is a clash and they said they are working on something - nothing more than that.

I understand that Sommet don't have as much as we've been led to believe.
I would have thought that they (Sommet) would just be offering one or two games from each competition or even just highlights packages from things like the Scottish and Chinese FA Cups.

With Wellington Phoenix FC news going suspiciously quiet in recent weeks, the pod turns their attention to the U20s at the World Cup and question whether we expect too much from our youth sides. While locally, the quarter finalists in the Chatham Cupare almost confirmed, but will the Cavvy Curse or the Lower Hutt luck continue.
Some good stuff this week on the U20s
Just one point I'd make. U20s is about producing players not teams - so deciding whether the U20s should play in the ASBP should be about whether that would improve players at that level who play there, not whether it will produce a good U20s team (which it probably wil). That's why I'm dubious about the merits for the players of that decision by NZF
Normo's coming home
You guys probably recorded before this was tweeted:
@BrendanSchwab @thepfa if clubs do not want to spend their 2.5mil, will they receive the rest of their share?
Brendan Schwab @BrendanSchwab
@Dennis_Silva @thepfa Yes provided all player payments including those outside the cap are up to date

The points on the CBA were quite specific:
A commitment to Contract Security – The Salary Cap will be matched by FFA Club Distributions in total over the two (2) year term and the FFA Club Distributions can only be used to pay Players' salaries
I assume BS is on top of these things.
Auckland will rise once more
Merrick's joining us on the podcast this week. Post or email your good questions to podcast@yellowfever.co.nz
Would love a little clarification on a few things he has said:
- In terms of how we line up - does he see us playing with 2 strikers and Carlos in behind? Or a 'front four' with 1 central striker and 2 wider players?
- Does he want to use Manny at DM or RB?
- He mentioned he wanted another defender - was a meaning a starting CB?

Dear Ernie, who is responsible for overseeing and running the Youth programme/academy at the Nix?
Is Nix entry into Australian NYL something you'd like to pursue? If not/unrealistic, what then?
Kotahitanga. We are one.
