Mmmmm Gold Coast can still catch up . . . .

We need to tighten the goals against column, the goal for column looks OK tho. Still early days yet.

Their game after next is at home versus Nix.  So we just need to sort them in that one and hope they draw or loose with Sydney for Nix to stay fourth mjp22010-09-25 23:43:07

Don't mind the 0-0 draws in games involving us - that's three in a row for the Tards.

Must remedy the away form...starting on Friday. Let's face it...there's hardly going to be a home-crowd advantage..

I'm just thoroughly enjoying seeing that big fat zero in Sydney's wins column.

Oh, and their position on the table.

This. Makes me wonder what the SFC boards are like

Three for me, and two for them.

Early days yet but..

Bets on when we see Lavicka out? There are a few I have heard calling for his head. I don't think it'll be long.

Would be harsh on him in my opinion. Look at the players he has lost since last year, and only real replacement has been Liam and Nicky Carle

The angst continues to build.

Ifill summed it up really nicely in the post-match interview.

All good things come to an end - at home we'll eventually hit a snag. But by the same token, we should be picking something up on the road.

We're just struggling to create chances. Tonight, I don't think that outside Greenacre's goal and Rees' senseless handball did we create anything. Not going to win games like that.

Defensively there are still some issues. The goals were too soft for my liking.

I'd like to know how many GOOD chances we've created all season. It can't be a huge amount. Away from home it's probably single figures from 5 games.

Don't get too depressed. Our record at the same stage last season was:

Played 9, Won 1, Drawn 6, Lost 2, For 8, Against 10, GD -2, Points 9

And let's not forget how that turned out.

Nice comparison Termy.

As I posted last night however those draws last season were not from playing mediocre football (maybe some were lucky -others we threw away due to momentary lapses).

So far this season we haven't been convincing.

However still not even one-third of the way through and we can still turn things around.

The season started with so much promise - just need to find that Nix mojo again.

Exactly this- those draws set the groundwork for our launch. We had a solid defence, and formidable midfield. Added a couple of goals from Kosta and Dadi and we were in a good position. The draws were often great defensive performances or games we nearly won, but drew at the last gasp. Not playing as well as last season and not as happy with our depth so far.

Problem is we were playing well last year,  we were very lucky to get wins over sydney and NQ this year,  the only time we have looked good this year was the draw with Melb, which could have quite easily been a loss in the end
