Not well put. When people mention teams having played 4 less, they usually mean each team, not in total.

Yeah it makes it near impossible to judge the calibre of teams, unless they're out front on points by a good margin.

BS unless you're a total retard at maths.

What did you expect with 11 teams inthe league, some people just whine about anything.

+1

There are three reasons why the played games are uneven:
1) uneven number of teams - not everyone can play each week.
2) midweek games - some rounds are staggered over a number of different weeks, so they can schedule one midweek match per week
3) we had a game postponed last week because of pitch problems.

Next year, assuming we go to 12 teams, reason 1 will disappear.

Reason 2 will presumably stay - unless we either do away with midweek games or have a everyone play their midweek games in the same week. Can't see the latter happening as the current television arrangement is that no games clash.

Reason 3 is just one of those things that happens in all leagues - though the reason for postponement is "very A-League" in nature i.e. pitch got trashed by motocross racing event.

Only because we've grown accustomed to an even schedule. In English football, we get postponed games and games in hand on a regular basis.

Like I said, we've got teams having three byes each to spread around the season and a chunk of midweek games staggered across the entire season.(And then Newcastle had their game with the Fury postponed last week because of the motocross.)

Anyone surprised at the disparity in games played wasn't paying attention when the fixtures were released.

Actually this has been a season to make and end records.

Longest unbeaten run at a home venue (Nix) - followed by a loss to Roar

Longest unbeaten run in a season (Cakes) - followed by a loss to Tards

So hopefully this season will be when we break our winless away streak (starting with the next game).

I just can't see us winning in Perth. Unfortunately I am VERY used to supporting teams who seem to be the ones that EVERY team ends their bad run against. It almost literally never fails!
