^ Well, you get the gist of it lol

Anyway, if we win against the Furries (if we don't we should kill ourselves) we should be in.

I don't see MH winning against both sh*tney and ccm.

I don't see newcastle getting anywhere.

I don't see sydney beating all 3 and getting a better gd than us (don't forget, NQF should be a good GD booster)

Hence such low pay for us making 6th

However if I had an account there I'd definitely put a tenner or something on sh*tney as the odds are way too high.

Rather verse Adelaide than gold coast in finals - Adelaide are in a run of bad form

Even if we only win one of our next three games, it goes like this:

Heart need to win both their remaining games to beat us to 6th, if they draw/lose to CCM on Friday theyre as good as finished.

The Jets will need two wins and a draw or better to get ahead of us, as soon as they lose just one theyre also done.

Sudnee will need to win all their games and hope to get passed us on goal difference. A loss or a draw in any of these and the only football that they'll be playing will be in the ACL.

Keen to go to the Central Coast actually. Though Gold Coast would be sweet with the Brisbane 1 v 2 game most likely there the night before.

hhhm

those TAB odds are slightly reassuring

and thanks AJ13 that post helps calm the nerves a little

if the smurfs were to avoid a draw or a loss in all 3 games and if we only win v NQF i expect the smurfs GD might possibly threaten ours

I'm certainly very very far from relaxed

So we really want a jets v Sydney draw on Sunday.

Cheering for a draw is always a confusing experience!

Heart draw with Mariners 1-1, so Heart drop out of the race for sixth spot.

Their game against Sydney could do us a favour still.Ard Righ2011-02-05 01:20:37

If we can't get any points, at home, against the North Queensland Fury, then we utterly do not deserve to make the top six.

Having said that, I still expect we'll get the 3 points from that game, and expecting our goal difference not to blow out.

If Perth can hold GCU to a draw, and if CCM and the Roar both beat GCU, and if Adelaide beats the Victory, then wins against Sydney and the Fury will earn us a home playoff.

EDIT: I forgot that a draw against Perth would move them onto 44 points. They need to lose all 3 games for us to go ahead of them. C'mon Perth!patrick4782011-02-06 07:18:35

Well all those results are fairly plausible, its just the Perth game that could screw us up.

CCM and the Roar should def beat No Fans United.

Adelaide vs Victory should be close, hopefully Adelaide can pull through.patrick4782011-02-05 23:09:21

Sydney can even beat Jets now, 'cause if we're not good enough to beat Fury at home we shouldn't be there anyway...

Not quite right there JV. Sydney winning all three would almost certainly finish ahead of us losing last two on GD. If we lose 2, the best our GD would be is -4 (ie, 1 goal margins). And if Sydney win all three by similar 1 goal margins, then -4 (ie, at worst).

However, all that is an extreme long shot, and as a result of our 100th game "ironic" win, WE are in the BOX SEAT!

(ps, come on a Jest-Bling draw!)

I know, I know, its serious!

We're now threatened only by Sednee and Planes, who have each other tonight, and this is how it goes.

If Sednee...

Win - they can still make the finals by winning their final two. They will equal our 38 and will need to rely on GD
Draw - Season over, no finals.
Lose - Season over, finalols.

If Planes...

Win - they can still make the finals with just a win and a draw. They will equal our 38, and will need to rely on GD. Two more wins though and they can hit 40.
Draw - season lives on, as two wins from their final 2 games could still get them level to 38, again they would need to rely on GD.
Lose - Season over, no finals.

The beauty of this match is that one or the other will exit the finals race regardless of the result.

Most preferable result for us - Draw. This will also end Sednee but pile all the pressure on the Planes who will need to win their final 2 games to match 38 points. The Nix will then need only a draw against Sednee or Fury to grab that finals spot.

Like I said before, if we can't beat Fury and go to 41, we don't deserve to be in the playoffs. So really it should all be academic now. IMO the Sydney game has now gone from being the MOST important of the season to probably the LEAST. Given that and the fact that Siggy, Manny and Dura will all be available for the playoffs now, the only real benefit from a result in Sydney will be to seal 6th before the Fury game, and keep 5th, or even 4th alive mathematically. Maybe the most important thing from the next two games is to get Brownie through without another yellow?

And we'd only need to win by an average of 8-0 to get a better GD than GCU to hold 4th spot :)

What you really mean is that if neither GCU or Melbin' B win any of their remaining games, we win both our remaining games, we can sneak passed them on points.Ard Righ2011-02-06 02:31:22
