But putting away games you are expected to win is a quality of a good team, especially if you go behind in those games.

Great work FeverBot and Patrick.  Is there a possibility of displaying goals scored and conceded??  Love our goal difference but how many goals have we scored?

Do we dare to dream that this team is a few pieces and some continued emerging player development away from being a good side?

There were people doubting the quality of our off season signings earlier.

Burns - leading the golden boot.

Bonevacia - yep.

Rodriguez - ;)

Wee Mac - gee.

Buy a bucket hat. Some of you need to eat one.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I guess the test will be as Leggy said, now that we are beginning to settle how we and those players do against the top four teams. We have 4 losses compared to only one or none by the teams above us.

Krishna has had a couple of games which justified those opinions and then has improved out of sight. Which is credit to him and Ernie.

Our four losses have been to:

Perth Rnd 1 - last minute loss

Tards Rnd 4 - outplayed, but only conceded 2 and the team did not fold.

Pissants Rnd 6 - last minute loss. Fudge. Shark. Cod.

Perth Rnd 7 - never really in this game

Other than the tards we have only lost by one goal

We have yet to play the Bling.

Based on form so far (one third of the way in to the season) we thoroughly deserve 5th spot and could also be contenders for 4th.

I'm just enjoying the fact that every game is entertaining at the moment -  and the fact that we have the genuine ability to destroy teams if they make mistakes. Comparing our losses to those above us is a little misleading considering we've had no draws.

I still think we've got a way to go, and I'm unsure if we can really take that next step up with our backline - I love Dura/Siggy/Manny but they aren't confident enough in possession for the game we are trying to play for mine. Dura does alright most of the time, but Siggy and Manny really, really struggle (and Doyle has too) when forced to play out from the back. Because we don't have the confidence that we can do that, it usually results in Moss hoofing it long to Burns - who never wins anything in the air - and is more costly against the better teams who capitalise on having that possesion.

We're definitely the 'best of the rest' at the moment, or the 'worst best team'/'best worst team', if you want to put it that way.

You say that about Siggie. Yet here he gained possession and played the ball that set our attack away. Against Bahrain it's his run up the field that wins the corner. A player who confounds expectation

My thoughts exactly, however, he has scored a couple of beauties so I am prepared to hold my hand up as a doubter that has been proved wrong of late with him.

That's fair, and I think he has been better this season - and , as you say, he always does more than most people pigeon-hole him for - but I think he definitely has a limit to how good his distribution is; a few times today he skied clearances up into the air etc.

I wasn't saying anything about his game in general- he just has that kind of knack for popping up at key moments. I still remember the winner in Christchurch in the 94th minute or something.

Tonight, he was going to Welly it, thought about it and played a super pass that led to a decent attack.

Ricki should've signed Krishna years ago when he had the chance. Too lazy to develop him.

In fairness if Ricki had played Kosta a bit more he might not have gone off else where too.

So? Ricki signed the likes of Chen and Coco or whatever his name was instead of Krishna. Ludicrous.

I'd like to hear from Jeff  Vader as to whether he still considers Roy a "flat-track bully" with no assets but pace who is out of his depth.

There is this concept called time and a process called development.  You might want to read up on these.

It has taken a year of Krishna being in a professional environment to get to the point where he is contributing. No one is going to spend that amount of time on a project player if he is a visa player. Ernie has invested the time because he will be a local player soon and that makes the pay off much higher than previously.

But we've been happy to waste numerous visa spots under Ricki especially. I just don't get what he saw in them over Krishna (who was already doing well in ASB Prem). Anyway, no matter, Ricki rules and has really went on to great things!

Tell me. Was Krishna doing better in the ASBPrem than Totori, whom Ricki did take a chance on? (Don't forget he cleaned the All Whites up in Honiara.)

Maybe because they were midfielders and Krishna is a forward?
