yep - there's a lot to be said for trebling your wins and more than doubling your goals !

10 goals in 3 matches is quite nice. Even better is 9-0 total of last two home games

.....and Tim Brown our leading scorer, although Ifill must have 4 as well....anyone?

Shhhh..shouldn't be letting the cat out of the bag that Ricki's latest tactic is IFill,Greenacre and Brown take turns every game to score from now on . RedGed2009-11-05 00:39:54

yeah happy with everyone chipping in with goals. Surely must be one of the better spreads in the league.

Beat Perth this week and we can climb. They are going to be hard to beat and hungry after their past three losses but we can expose them again. Come on boys!

Greenacre has 4 also. Would have had 5 if he'd scored the penalty last night.

Suddenly 4 goals in 13 matches is not such a bad strike rate - 0.31 goals per game. If Greenie scores again in the next two, he's up to 1-in-3.

with this weeks fixtures we stand to hold 4th on 19 points if we beat perth, melbourne(24, 2nd) playCCM(17, 4th) gold coast (17, 3rd) play sydney (25, 1st)....could be an epic week for the lads.

I might get crucified for this, but at this point in time, having Sydney or Melbourne beating everyone (apart from us obviously) is not necessarily a bad thing for us IMO, as long as WE are picking up points steadily. Would be nice if they played like sh*t and won.

We seemed to have sorted out our scoring issues, whilst Central Coast are going through the same pains now. Perth and Gold Coast have tapered off after great beginnings.

Adelaide are not invincible anymore. North Queensland are surprising me, with all their injuries and their poor start, they are finally getting things together. Brisbane look horrible right now but could come right, Newcastle look like strugglers to me, but on their day, they go alright.

"Crucifixation? First on the right, one cross each please."

Well they are establishing a bit of a gap at the top. Main challenge for us is to get well entrenched in the top 6.

Not fussed how it gets done at this stage half-way through the comp. But the gap is not huge at this stage so main thing is for us to keep banging in the goals and getting 3 pts more times than we get 1 pt.

I think there's an average of 2.77 goals per game which compares pretty favourably, especially considering how close the league is.  Generally you could say it's a close and fairly high scoring league

Figures for 07/08 season

EPL: 2.64
La Liga: 2.69
Serie A: 2.55
Bundesliga: 2.81
Ligue 1: 2.28
Eredivisie: 3.12

Yeah the GD is something we didnt have on our side last season. And we can thank those draws for it. Would love to spank the mariners next time we play them. Even if they are the stingiest defense. Feeling so positive at the moment, a  loss this weekend will not be good though, especially with the long break, we will feel even worse

If Perth were to win there's be a pretty distinct gap forming between the top and bottom fives.

This A-League sure throws up its surprises.

It's not all bad, as long as we pick up points against Perth today - preferably a win of course.

Let's just take things one game at a time.

Big positive this year which we didn't have last year when we were knocking on the door of the playoffs come the end of the season was a good goal difference. Hopefully we can keep picking up those decisive victories and continue to build on that because in a league as tight as this one it will come in handy big time!

We look better than we did last season. We had high hopes last season, and about halfway through the season we were in last place. We started building momentum with a few victories, then after losing 6-1 to Adelaide, we never really got back to those dizzy heights again.

This season, sans the Sydney games, we've looked as impressive as anyone in the league, and our impotency in front of goal seems to have disappeared. Things are looking quite upbeat at the moment.

One game at a time - craving for a good performance today from the lads.
