Victory fans set up a Facebookgroup to get the club to sell long sleeves shirts. They were told they needed 1000 people wanting too buy them.
The only problem with this is that Adidas know 1000 'likes' doesnt equal 1000 sales, so i cant see a FB page being of too much success.

They need 1000 pre-orders for it to happen

Who's up for a little Facebook Group Hijacking?

And as an aside I thought the new strip looked great on the pitch down in Dunedin. The bright yellow really stuck out - although the midifeld still managed to go missing on a regular basis even with the new colour.......

Im not a complete idiot, some parts are missing!

I told Leo in the tunnel that his strip was so bright I needed to put my sunnies on. To his credit he smiled at my lame joke.

Probably didn't realise it was a joke.

Did notice from the photos of Saturdays game that the badges have changed position from when the kit was first revealed. Instead of being totally in the yellow stripe now positioned to sit in both black and yellow stripe. I think it looks better.

I am interested in what size shorts Rigter was wearing.

Why?  It's like the first stripeys - a collector's item or the "AW vs some Middle Eastern team on 14 Nov 2009" tickets (before we knew it was Bahrain).

My tickets say Bahrain/Saudi Arabia

I have to say the shirts somehow look even better in game situations in a flashy stadium

had a wee chat to ricki and mal (long last name) about having long sleeve shirts. they both assured me that they will be on sale to the general public. I said they would be a hit here in wellington for the cold windy nights, ricki cheekily chimed in to say "well atleast 80 minutes of the game"

good news though. good to know that right at the top of the phoenix they want the public to have longsleeves.

They match Leo's flashy yellow boots too.

hold fire everybody !!! I will go and get some confirmation for you all this morning on the away strip so we are all clear and dont  get our nickers all twisted. The one we have up on our web was what we were shown. i will get colors, long sleeve short sleeve etcall  clarified  foryou .

ill be back!
OKAY, from the horses mouth at Adidas, the long sleeve away like the long sleeve home is player allocation only, however adidas are listening and are aware there is significant demand. If this is the case it will be looked at for next year provided the demand and minimums are met. So its in your hands really.

As for the image we posted this morning to start taking pre orders on the away shirt sorry  this was an incorrect image. The away shirt will be as per what Leo was wearing.
Hope that sorts a few things out for you

How do they measure demand for long sleeve? By how many short sleeves are sold?

Which would seem a little silly as a lot people who want long sleeve but dont want to wait will get a short sleeve and may not want/need long sleeve in a year

How would you suggest they go about it Bullion?

I would suggest they just put a limited amount on sale? If they market them as very limited edition then it's probably more likely to work in their favour.

I for one am keen for a new top, however I'm not going to get a short sleeved one this year and a long sleeved one next year (unless the top is actually different).

1000 need to pre-order. Like with money...

We should have signed up people at Dunedin Stadium the other night...

They could make 1000 which I think is the minimum order, and then hope they sell them over the next 2 years.
But if the sponsors changes then that's another drama, and the club needs the cash to make the order too.

Doubt it will happen

Still can't decide about the new shirt, I kind of like it but the 'pinches' into the sides of the side stripes trigger my OCD as much as the texture of the Wellington Beds logo iron on transfer from last year.

My beef is that there are so few stripes to begin with, so I feel those pinches even more.

Scratch that. I "get" the pinches now. The shirt looks good on the players.

Brisbane kit is probably the only one that comes close to being as good as ours.

Design is similar to 2010/11 Spurs kit.

Execution is rather gash (shall we say).
