Phoenix kit - The return of the stripe

Awful... The only kit we've had that I don't like.

That was always the risk of going with a smaller manufacturer, a "good in theory, terrible in execution" style kit.

Have to say. Wasn't fussed about the top but the yellow shorts?? Come on it looks like a child's PJs!
At least make the shorts black to break it up a bit. And agree that some black trim would have made a huge difference.

good timing in that I had no idea of the fact that we had a new kit launching but saw the kit below and it made me think it would be a great Nix kit.

For what it is worth, I like our new shirt. Two thumbs up from me.

This is the new Malaysia away shirt

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

An A-League/Australian football news account has been making concept kits for each A-league club and thought I'd share their suggestion for out which although will never become reality, I think looks really cool.

Not too late to switch tp this one?

Bit shonky bc i did it on snapchat but surely even just giving it a proper trim makes it look slightly better... Just looks so unfinished

Looks like some one ran out of toilet paper and used the kit.

Buy one plain yellow Tee Shirt. Buy 1 roll of black insulation tape. Apply two strips of tape to the tee shirt. Also use insulation tape on the back to add name and number. Use rest of insulation tape to add any "extras" to the top.

That is an amazingly big improvement

I don't mind the new kit so much but it seems weird that they've placed a lot of meaning into the stripe pattern which will inevitably be covered up by a sponsor logo. There is literally only one design element and it will be obscured. That's stupid.

Hence the above designs. The topographic pattern covers the entire torso and continues through the stripes. The only way to include a sponsor on the front is to break the stripes so I also made a version that removes the stripes entirely which looks cleaner.

If they do the vertical logo like that I will cry.

The reason why Sony worked so well was because it was horizontal and out of the way.

This is the supporters shirt you get with the Nix Fix package. Looks better than the playing jersey IMO

This is what I assumed the away kit would end up looking like, so I'm glad that it appears we will have some sort of different design for the away jersey

Really benefits from not having the AL log on the chest, and therefore the Paladin logo in the middle.

if the paladin placement was non negotiable then they should not have gone for the centre stripes

To me it looks like it would suit a Tour de France rider more than a football player. So might be quite the hit with MAMILs

I think I've worked it out, focus on mt Vic in the home kit, basin is at the foot of mt Vic, black caps play at the basin, black caps added teal to their kits in the early 2000s, therefore we have a teal away kit. Can't think of any other reason tbh

Designed by Paladin Sports, the distinctive kit deviates from the traditional Phoenix yellow and black colours by introducing a graduated blue and aqua colourway – with the design again drawing on the story of Ngake and Whataitai, the taniwha of Wellington harbour in Māori mythology.

Wellington Phoenix General Manager David Dome, says that while the home kit drew on the geography of Mount Victoria which overlooks Wellington Harbour, the away kit instead focusses on the harbour itself.

Full story on the Nix's website (post above). First time I might buy an away kit over the home kit. I can only remember getting the 10 year anniversary kit instead of the spikey. They've knocked out the park with this, how did they fudge up the home kit so bad?

Beautiful.

And of course the NSW state colours are Navy and light blue so they might win some fans over here too.
