Is it a great signing? The guy's started less than 20 games over the last 5 seasons, and hasn't really done anything of note as a player since his time at Cordoba in 2013 in the Spanish Segunda. I mean, no idea how it's going to pan out, but it seems like a pretty big roll of the dice.

Hopefully, he turns out to be a new Fornaroli or Berisha, neither of those two guys had done much before coming to the A-league, but then became superstars of the league.

One other thing that stands out to me when looking at his career is that every time he's moved away from Latin countries, things didn't work out well for him (e.g. his time in the Netherlands and India). And Wellington can be a bit of an acquired taste. At any rate, we'll soon find out how he goes.

I would be very surprised if we were looking to sign import players from Handy Prem.

Wouldn't be surprised if other import signings fall through last minute (as can happen)

Browne would be the closest but he is an import

What about Mohamed Awad. Is he a NZer or would he be considered an import.

Guess he cant trial because he's playing for Melbourne Knights. But we need some midfielders. He could potentially be a kind of Burgess replacement.

If you like having people punching on and not being up to A-League standard he seems the ideal fit.

Should target players with wives/partners from the Tron.

I guess Talay worked with him last year. So he knows his qualities and what he's getting.

Direct replacement for Max Burgess perhaps? Who came to us with similar A-League experience.

Surely going to have the youngest squad in the League at this rate.

Not a big fan of signing Aussie youth players, was hoping for an experienced head. We need an influx of experienced players - I saw a stat which directly correlated league position with the age of the team in the A-League; if we go in with all youth we're going to be bottom.

Davila is 28 so that'll bump up the average a fraction.

I was scrolling through facebook and i saw a headline that said "Yaya Toure's new club revealed" and at that very moment I got the notification for the nix email and all that I could read was "BREAKING NEWS | Wellington sign Y..." Needless to say I got very excited. 

According to stuff the Nix have brought in Tim Payne, Myer Bevan, Te Atawhai Hudson-Wihongi and Mohamed Awad on trial.
