Yeah it sounds more like a contract extension or something else but not really a player signing

Much like this season, I am prepared for disappointment.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Whatever it is they're really making a big deal about it,  video just gone up on their Youtube channel with title "Huge announcement coming soon..."

Has to be a signing, the only resigning that would be worth this hype would be Cacace and even that would be underwhelming to give this much build-up for it.

I reckon they’re announcing a Nix W-League team

Could be why Football Central were the first to post about it here - wleague kits?

Or they've had to print a new player's name and number onto the kit for the photo op?

Don't think there'd be a full presser for that

Could it be an affiliation? with another club?

Has to be a striker, given the timing. If it was a W-League side there surely would have been rumours circulating in Aussie footy media prior. If it's not a striker though, they have seriously baited us

i honestly hope it's not the W-League team - that can be an announcement for the future and would be pretty myopic when the club knows we're starving for a signing or at least some news hinting we're going to have success this season

we have signed an affiliation deal with Bayern. They are signine Carcace and loaning him back to us for the remainder of the year plus a youth player.

Bayern recognises the talent comin through NZ and what to be part of it.

The wording doesn't sound like a player signing to me, but fingers crossed.

Am I the only one who thinks there's a non-zero chance that this will be Welnix pulling out of the club? Either with a sale or surrendering the licence? An announcement regarding the club may well be... the end of the club.

You're probably the only one - would be idiotic timing

This is the most negative take possible, but sure, anything could happen.

I doubt they would fight so hard to gain independence and then immediately leave.

I wouldn't think so. It's clear they're trying to hype this up with the video on their youtube channel and the posts on their social media. That's not something you'd do if your about announce the club no longer has owners

they wouldn't be pumping the announcement if that was the case and there would already have been rumours out of Oz about it

No chance, they're making a big deal out of it. Would be one heck of a mike drop.

Yeah agree with above.... they're making a big song and dance about it so no chance it will be an exit type announcement.

However, also doesn't seem like a signing announcement.

And I don't think they would make this type of noise about W-League team either (sorry ladies)

So..... Im going to go with what others have suggested and say an affiliation with a large European based club

It's a signing. Check their Twitter.

Gonna have to be someone special with this amount of hype.

Yeah throwing a name out there, Giuseppe Rossi or Bony? Has to be a player on that level for this amount of hype right?

Hopefully if we are going to have a W-League team we wouldn't treat them with such utter disrespect as to not make announcements about them because the men don't have a striker yet.

I love how everyone's expectation slowly escalates when we know there's an announcement coming.

It will be the Japanese striker or Lewis.

Surely Domey wouldnt be hyping a Japanese 33 year old striker like this?

I honestly don't think so, not for the amount of hype they're giving it. There wasn't this much when we signed Taylor last year, or Davila this year and they are two of our more high profile signings. But even if it is disappointing in the end, lets just enjoy this beautiful bubble of pure excitement and getting ahead of ourselves. I literally know nothing except we are signing someone and my feelings towards the nix are 100% more positive than yesterday, i love it

Let's just hope the hype they're trying to build is an indication of how good the signing is.
