What a good idea though, look at the reaction on here at the suggestion of such a game. It has users buzzing withexcitement and lethargy. I hope Everton come.

/ (say 'lethuhjee)
noun (plural lethargies)
1. a state of drowsy dullness or suspension of the faculties and energies; apathetic or sluggish inactivity.
2. Pathology a morbid state or a disorder characterised by overpowering drowsiness or sleep. [Late Latin lēthargia, from Greek: drowsiness; replacing Middle English litargie, from Medieval Latin litargia]
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
And LG you make my point exactly, Everton could be coming but we don't even know who is playing yet. Would we be excited if it was a team like Watford or Derby? Just because its a team with a big name doesn't mean that it will be quality opposition.
Comparing Everton (6th in Premier League) with Watford and Derby (Championship clubs) is ludicrous.
So you think that the team currently 2 points off the top 5 in England may not be quality opposition for the Phoenix? What world do you live in?
Another example is Everton or Fulham. Both were mentioned in the article but this is called Nix vs Everton not Nix vs Fulham. So would you rather see a first 11 Fulham side (9th with a game in hand) or a half 1st team, half youth Everton side?wellyphoenixfan2009-03-03 11:24:53

And yes I do understand that the Nix could make a contract with them about players they bring.

What is your point exactly (dare I ask)?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I'm not an Everton fan but I'd still fly down from Auckland for the game, save me a seat in the Fever Zone "We're here to watch the Phoenix"
I'd be a great occasion I'm sure.Disagree completely Jag.
I'd pay $80 to go and watch the Nix play Everton. It'd be great fun. If they get it in the diary now I think they could get a sell out. Plus all the other stuff that could be done on the side as promotional activity and I think it could/would be a success.Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Funny you should say that as we've just been having an email discussion on how to get it running before the lads move out of Fever Towers.
ok heres Everton vs Chicago Fire (Everton lost 2-0):
Howard 1st team player
Neville 1st team player and club captain
Baines 1st team player
Rodwell 1st team player
Lescott 1st team player and england squad
Jagielka 1st team player and england squad
Pienaar (85' Yobo) 1st team player south african squad
Gosling 1st team player
Yakubu (79'Jutkiewicz) 1st team player and member of Nigerian squad currently on long term injured list
Arteta (64' Vaughan) The best little Spaniard we know unfortunately injured and unlikely to come down
Baxter (46' Osman) the next Wayne Rooney but not 1st team (yet)
and vs Colorado Rapids a few days later: (Everton won 2-1)
almost the same except for Leon Osman 1st team player
Tim Cahill was injured with 5th metatsal injury so never went on last years preseason tour of the U.S.A
And Joesph Yobo's brother was kidnapped so he was in Nigeria at the time with family trying to obtain his brothers release
So i'm pretty sure we'd get a bloody good side coming down to play whoever and don't worry people will come
If you know your history it's enough to make your heart go whooooah
