I have already paid up for flights etc. for the Victory game - it costs me around 400 bucks and I'm starting to wonder if it is money well spent.
I support football in NZ - I always have. I was disappointed when I could no longer watch A League in Auckland but that did not stop me from supporting the NZ team that was in the A-League. I have been down to Welly at least once every season and this is the first time that I am less than enthusiastic about it. All this financial woe is wearing me down.
Oh well I'll look forward to a beer or two at Hashigo Zake.

Definitely. I wish it could go on forever. It's going to suck when we have to start playing football again.

Just the opposite for me I'm afraid, it's all getting very boring I think.

I've gone from looking forward to the new season and telling all and sundry to get season tickets to dreading the new season and still not even having a season ticket myself.

Mate, those 17 players we have need our support. Forget about Terry for a minute and think of them.

This. So totally this. Ricki and the players are the true heroes in this situation.
While I like the concept of this, it is not the players we really support is it? but the club. Players coem and go but the club remains constant. Man U fans support Man U and the players come and they go - support them while they are there sure.

Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Give yourself a stiff upper cut, shake your head to clear the stars and suck it up.

No one ever said it was gonna be easy. You shoulda tried being there back at Mt. Smart in the rain when we were Kingz and Chris Turner was calling us the salt of the earth. Things were dire. Really dire. The Knights ended up being a good idea. Seriously.

We are the fans. What do fans do? Fans cheer the team on, and support the team. We don't sook and refuse to buy tickets.

Trust me, it'll all be okay once you're standing there at the Ring of Fire singing.

Yes and no (this is me trying to be an economist).

How do you rate the players who play for the shirt?  Ifill, Dura, Daniel, Manny, Greenie, Brown, Leo, Pasty, Siggie (etc.)?  While they wear the shirt I support them. If they leave for valid reasons I'll still feel the love for them (so to speak).

Others (e.g. midgets from Waikato) - not so much.

Even players who have turned down bigger money to stay at a club?

Then they're not playing all for money. It may be for winning trophies though, not necessarily the shirt. But it does crap all over your idea of everybody playing for money.

EDIT: or to play first team football.

But, of course, he never lived under a communist regime.

Numpty.

But I guess it's understandable, he does live in Livornograd which has the highest proportion of imbeciles per capita in Italy. And that's saying something, in such stiff competition.

And Paolo di Canio never lived under a fascist regime, but that didn't stop him dreaming.
