Perhaps once you have read the thing you shouldn't have read because you didn't like it you can use quantum tunneling to shift the particles which constitute your physical form to another parallel universe where you did not read the offending posts? You could thus exist in a dual state where you have not read the posts but know that you don't like them. Of course there would exist in that universe a version of you which hasn't read the posts and doesn't know if he likes them or not. You would probably have to kill this version of you so that it didn't get too confusing

Actually, that wouldn't work because the version of you which quanum tunneled would have read the posts regardless of which reality it was in.

Well, I give up. I'm stumped

This is some serious backtracking.

David Gallop wrote:

"But we're not there yet, we've got to keep those talks going.

"We've said for some time that we're looking for a greater contribution from the Wellington Phoenix and from the other stakeholders in New Zealand.

"But at the same time we recognise the place they have in the A-League."

The club is doing the right thing by not negotiating via the media.

It is the FFA who are looking bad with all the leaks.

The mistake the club made is not starting this process soon enough.

The license should have been sorted out before the season started.

Having all this happening with only four months to go is farcicial (farcical?)

Of course, that may have been a delay on the FFA's side.

this licence situation has been going on since the petone stadium was first mooted - has been going on for ages and i'm inclined to proportion more blame to the ffa than the nix

I recommend tearing ourselves apart into those who want to go back to the end of last season, and those who want to fast forward to the beginning of the next season

I actually think that the reason that Welnix seemed to not support the Petone stadium idea in public after they first raised it was because it needed a 20 year license to be commercially viable, and the FFA told them they wouldn't grant one after the idea had been raised. Welnix probably wanted to stay onside so they didn't say anything publicly but that meant lots of us (myself included) didn't think they were doing enough to support the idea in public. In reality they knew it was dead in the water but didn't want to say why.

That's my theory anyway.

We should start threatening to kill each other. Then it becomes a life and death situation and we are allowed to care about it again.

I thought I recognised Gallop as one of the Nimbys when I attended. That explains a lot.

The biggest atrocity about this Save The Nix campaign  is the misuse of ‘licence’ and ‘license’.

Licence is the noun. License is the verb.

So you are given a HAL licence. Which grants you a license to play. Or, James bond has a license to kill. But also needs a driver licence.

(Basically 'licence' is what the Nix are after).

assuming those Sky stats are correct, on a per capita basis that would be 55K viewers in Aus for a game. Which doesn't take into account time zone difficulties of watching Phoenix away games (ie Perth).

Here are the rating in Aus for the latest round for comparison.

Olyroos fail to qualify for Rio. Possible funding implications for the FFA. Nothing really going well for them at the moment. Time for a change?

In Brit English. US English, it's license both ways.

What should metrics for FOX is that we are only 2K less than MVCvBri,  4k less than PERvManCity. They would love to show only Sydney derby's, not going to happen.

Maybe it is not really our problem if they can't sell the product. A top cracker game like Victory vs Roar and only 42K viewers?

They were behind it, to the tune of $19 to $23 million.

Morgan said it would be a long haul recouping his arena investment, which is why he would not invest without a 10-year A-league licence either.

That was part of my point - they needed the license/licence to make it viable and they were told by the FFA they weren't going to get it so they gave up on the stadium idea for the time being at least. Remember there was a lot of misinformed criticism in the local media and idiot NIMBYs braying on about it and at the time it seemed like no one from WelNix or the club was publicly rebutting the stupidity

FFA needs to license The Nix for 10+10 years.

The Nix will then have a licence for 20.

But so far FFA behaviour has been nothing but licentious.
