Because Gareth is slagging the fans off and wanting to kill my cat?
Yep you sound like a true Phoenix fan.NOT Should be about the team not who or what the owner craps on about.I may not like some of the rubbish that comes out of his mouth or him wanting me to get rid of our cats. But its the team i support not some loud mouthed owner who produces the details to support his case as if they are the only ones out there
I was there at the founding of the Kingz supporters club.
I was there throughout the knightz debacle.
Then I moved to Wellington, and I've been there through the Phoenix's highs and lows ever since.
I've been to Australia with all three teams. I got the campaign for flags and banners started and organised approval for flags to be brought into the Caketin. Say what you like Ballane, I am confident I am a true fan.
The question was why were people not coming. I agree results have a BIG bearing on it. So does the weather. It's been great lately, but through November and December nearly
every home game the weather was ferral, and a lot of marginal fans (in my opinion) lost the bug of coming to the games then.
What I was commenting on was that, on top of all of that, the owner saying things that alienate people doesn't help.
Subconscious link ?? :-)
Rid Wellington of all feral weather and it might make a difference..it is wild and it does bite you
Yesterday in Auckland, glorious, find a place to siesta.
I can understand people getting upset about his comments, but feel they have taken them to heart a bit much (which is your prerogative, sure). It seems to me now we will hear things from Gareth that will be upsetting all the time of his tenure, he is that sort of bloke and he wont change, so the only thing that can change is how much I/you/YF the ordinary fans take it on as personal and let it get in the way of our enjoying our team.
When I watched yesterday, he hardly came to mind, except when a woman was going up the aisle selling programmes at halftime, they were $5 and someone said, thats another cat gone, had to laugh.
Good luck, the club needs strong fans like you
