I challenge anyone to listen to that and maintain that Morgan is an impressive individual who should be the face of this club. That was just embarrassing!
In what way? What did you find embarassing?

twice the crowd Welly would have put up going by the last few?
close top double sure, but in a stadium that is double the capacity (close too) and from population of 2 million compared to 450k? Welnix can't have made money on this trip....and if they did then Wellington council need to look at the hirage fee for the stadium in welly.

a little? I would have guessed that for Eden Park the break even point would be around 15k, (given 10k for RoF) 11k is sad, especially with the marketing, population, novelty etc

Posts in fear of the unknown...
BUT what if Gareth wants you where playing attractive football and further up the table... what would the crowd have been then...
Socceroo/ Mariner / Whangarei
Because of New Zealand's tall poppy syndrome it actually would have been worse.
We hate successful people.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
You forgot to mention bouncy castles there Smithy.
I agree, hard to draw any firm conclusions from the size of that crowd. It was low enough for the "travelling circus" haterz to say "told you so" but on the other hand as our second biggest crowd of the season probably just enough to justify doing again.

Yip, Gareth has definitely given the chants a shot in the arm that was needed. Was getting a little boring there for a while so kudos to Gareth.

What gets me with this so called break even point at the ROF being 10k,if you look at the figures and apart from our 1st season when have we averaged that for the round robin games. If you take out the games held at AMI and Eden Park and the finals series games from most seasons averages then im pretty sure the figure isnt 10k so not sure why Welnix keep banging on about this magical figure its not as if we have ever reached it on a consistant basis.
Sounds like Iff's isn't exactly a fan of Gareth... he tweeted this in response to Alex Smith's tweet about the Superbowl.
@al_smith defence wins championships I swear IV heard that before #everywherebuthere

Yeah, he really isn't. Interesting he chose to let the cat out of the bag (geddit?)

Patrick isnt a fan of Gareth, he sees something from Ifill, and draws the conclusion that Ifill isnt either, when really there are many possibilities to the meaning of the tweet...

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
Ah... but what is meaning ?

The 10K figure actually has little to do with Welnix ( at least , I think that's true) . David Gray (Westpac Stadium's manager) told me a few years ago ( during Terry's reign)that 10K is what the Stadium needs to break even. The impression he gave me was this was in fact independent of code so similar figures were relevant for egg-ball.

Closer to 1.22 million I believe.
(Actually its closer to 1.4mill, I just couldn't resist taking the piss)

Which is closer to 1.4million, as I said..?
I am closer to climax if that makes any difference.
We will never fully decide who has won the football.

It's not just this tweet that I drew conclusions from, there have been many tweets along the same lines, especially on the day that Gareth called us pathetic. It's been an ongoing theme in some of his tweets.
Also, I'm not sure where you got the idea that I'm not a fan of Gareth. I think you are drawing conclusions.
The meaning depends on your point of view

It's hard to put into words, but I'll try. I'm not a fan of the way Gareth gets his messages across sometimes, but I respect that he is ambitious and that all he is trying to do is make things better. His overall message is fairly positive (I think most of us agree on that), but the way he communicated it and implemented it could have been better. It also irks me that he has appointed himself as they spokesperson from the Phoenix and presents his opinion as the opinion of Welnix and the Phoenix, when in fact the people that should be speaking in public (Rob and Domey) have a completely different point of view. (I'm referring to him saying that him saying that it's okay if we don't make the playoffs, whereas Rob Morrison said that he's told Ricki we have to make the playoffs).
