I think you have all bases covered there.

The guy who said he saw the strip at the filming of the A-League ad said it was sponorless. However all A-League strips apparently had 'Solo' on the back. Which is the logo for a drink similar to Lift.

Apparently we were very close to getting a major sponsor but they pulled out at last minute so don't be suprised if we go sponsorless for a while I think

How about giving it to a charity then?

You usually have to pay the charities to have their logos slapped on the shirt.

At least that's the deal that Barca and Boca have with UNICEF. We can't really afford that tbh.el grapadura2009-07-01 18:43:11

Hope we get a decent sponsor that will help as, as much as we can help them.

OK so obviously no big sponsor yet. I sure hope someone has approached Trademe, that would be a good sponsor and shouldnt conflict with the A-League partners.

thats a good idea that would be a sweet sponsor

Trade Me are owned by Fairfax Media who own the Dom Post who are already a sponsor of the Phoenix.

Any problem with that?

Not being able to help out a charity for free is arse. Sure that's true EG?

Tony P, I've advised you on getting Daniel into magazines, which you did and you've run with the ball and got him on the telly as well.Well done part of my plan.

I might add I've still not been "recognized" for this advice, would Max Clifford accept this? I dunno still, for my next marketing bar of gold I offer you this:

As Doc Martin's are no longer the same and Edie Stobart does not operate in NZ what about Monteith's lager as a sponser? The only decent lager made over here?

And Montieth's if you are watching and you don't help us out I'll boycott your beer and that will be then end of you lot

What about that Peter Jackson bloke? He must have a bob or 2? Tell him I bought his movies on VHS and I am not a kiwi! Yep I bought your films before you were famous mate so come on return the favour.

I have of course have many other ideas.

Yeah, he can digitally manipulate our sh*te matches and make them look good!

Resene does operate in Australia, so it may be an option for them. However, Resene does already have sponsorship involvement with the NPC.

Not a bad idea. Would look quite nice and similar to the SONY look. Better than a big colourful image

Montieths is a DB product, and the Phoenix have a "unofficial" deal with lion breweries, hence Speights at the stadium so it is unlikely we will see it. After some Lion publicans ( Boycie & Big Dunc) hounded the Wellington area manager into getting behind the Nix we managed to secure some funds to help out YF with discounts and hosting events. There is a new area manager in wellington now, and with the current economic climate the breweries indirect support for yellow fever and possibly the nix- (through Four Kings and Backbencher) may well be gone, so it will have to come out of our pockets this year. Looks all a bit grim if you ask me.

I think this would work nicely on the shirts, similar to Sony styled.

I wonder what Tony and Terry are trying to conjur up behind the scenes regarding sponsorship...

It must hard at this economic time, but fingers crossed we get a strong sponsor.

This thread is really only good for free publicity.

Everytime someone posts a logo, YF should get royalties.Stefan2009-07-12 11:34:16

DAMN YOU SONY:

Meanwhile, Sydney FC will announce - possibly as early as today - that electronics giant Sony has taken the place of JVC as shirt sponsor for the club's away matches this season.

In a major coup for the Sky Blues, the Japanese manufacturer looked to have walked out on local football after it announced plans to cut ties with Wellington Phoenix at the end of last season.

However, Sony will now join Bing Lee as the club's joint major sponsors, with the electronic goods retailer maintaining its sponsorship on Sydney's home kit. The respective sponsorships are expected to be confirmed for a further two seasons

Cut our sponsorship then go over to the dark side... Must smash my MP3 that I won last year!!

Those bloody liars . . . it was not the recession but that AFC head who announced that the Nixs are not viable for ACL competition that chopped their estimates. They could still sponsor us, if they wanted to.

Well we need a NZ brand, maybe one that will promote NZ Tourism . . . . quick someone tell John Keys, our PM and Minister of Tourism . . .. .
