Haha nah actually I don't know him at all. Just throwing it out there, a young Kiwi with a good scoring record, albeit in the I-League. I follow a lot of of NZers playing abroad and he looked like he was doing alright. Never saw him play for Waitakere so was just throwing it out there and see what the opinions were.

I have never seen him play live, but to go to India in search of a professional contract demonstrates a lot of dedication.

Two goals in two appearances so would his club want to release him?

Or desperation because he didn't catch on else where else that mattered... If he made it India, we would have easily another dozen from the Premiership that would. I just don't think they are that desperate to say 'I was a professional footballer... in India'. It would be like being a pro cricketer... in Russia.

Anyone heard of Kayne Vincent? Former NZ U20 and Waitakere striker? Just came off an 8 game stint in the Victorian prem league where he scored 7 times. Was a prolific scorer in the I-League. I reckon he deserves a look.

Yeah. He did stuff all as a bit part player at Waitakere United. Made his name playing where? India? Barracking a nobody for your first post? Must be a friend or related since you know his record well. Next...

I havent seen him play, but interesting to note he scored 4 goals in 8 games for Waitakere  - not bad for a "bit player" !!
Is the VPL > ASB prem, or other way round (isnt that where Manny came from?)

He has scored 30 goals in 60 games since becoming professional, that is quite good regardless of where you are, he is only 23, better than a "nobody" I suggest

I'm not saying trial him, he is back in India now anyway, but no reason to be so negative and worth keeping an eye out for how he continues

On K. Vincent, I agree about the whole India thing..but 7 goals in 8 VPL games?? That's a very good record, I'd give him a trial on the basis of that alone, personally.

Funny (and sad) that the chickens have come home to roost for Rojas. Could've been a top player for us this season, but instead he's nowhere to be seen and his career has stalled. We told you so, Marco.

Serious question here, if he wanted to leave the Victory at the end of this season, would the club and us want him back?

Doubt he would come back, would imagine him and Rodi would look to lower level leagues in Europe.

Also interesting to see what happens to Tom Pondeljak and Solazano.

Wouldn't take Pondeljak but what are the thoughts on Solarzano?

I would take him back in a flash!  Teenagers make some dumb descisions sometimes and I think he might have been pushed and/or had advice from others(his Dad). If he was contrite, made a grovelling apology I would love to see him in a Nix shirt again. Not sure about the club though!

Solorzano looks like he is in Jim Magiltons game plan, took Rojas's spot on the bench and played fairly well. Unlikely that he will be released now.

Yeah, though the way I was looking at it is he has bugger all chane of getting in the playing 11 bar injuries and for him to go from top dog at the Roar to splinters in the bum at the tards may make him look elsewhere...

I understand (reading the forum) that the issue tends to be more between Roddy and Ricki than Ricki and Marco. Naturally a son is going to trust his Dad and Dad sees son as an attacking central midfielder than a wide man. Ricki doesn't.

This was telecast ages ago and you only had to look at Melbournes front line of Archie, Allsopp, Turnip and Kewell to see that it was unlikely for Marco to be anything more than a bit part player.

Sadly, Marco would be the perfect replacement for Bertos and his low driving crosses were what unlocked our success last year for a late run. Love to see it, would Marco forget the fan taunts, would Dad swallow his ego. I don't think so.

Having said all of that. If he is not playing in a crap Melbourne side, would he really catch on in Europe? If he shows his tape around and says 'this is what I did in the A League' it going to read 6 good months in 4 years and that tends to read more like a CV of a flash in the pan (not that I am accusing him of that, just how it would look on the surface)

In days gone by I would've said "NO F_ING WAY HE CAN ROT IN HELL!!!!"...but now being more mature and stuff, I am prepared to say I would definitely take him back.

I don't want him, I get the feeling he's got a sh*tty attitude and I just don't think he's very good. Scored lots for Brisbane, but so did everyone. He got heaps of tap ins and the number of opportunities a striker would get while playing for the Roar of last season anyone would've scored a heap.
Haven't seen anything from him at Victory and am of the opinion that his team mates made him look good.
Rojas I'd be happy to cheer on again. Retrospectively I can't really criticise him for leaving, the club did look like folding there a while. But I really don't think its likely to happen and good luck to him with getting game time at Victory. If he stayed with us he would have started every game and probably been sold about now to elsewhere.
Too bad.phoenix_luver2012-01-16 12:51:40

Who has seen this Louis Fenton kid play for TW? Is he a potential youth player next year maybe?

Actually in previous games his finishing has driven me to distraction.  He's done some great things to create chances and get in positions but has pushed chances just wide or straight at the keeper.  Hopefully yesterday is a sign that the bad luck has broken.

He played in Melbourne last season for St. ALband (I think) and I thought he had college offers but not sure whether he's taking them or not.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Interesting... even if he chooses the college path it sounds like he's got the potential to play professionally later on. Good to see that there's these young guys coming through

Watching the GC game I cound'nt help thinking what a minefield recruiting is. Rigters was pants....absolutely pants. Yet he came with a amazing pedigree....straight out of an EPL squad, Dutch under 21 star and heaps of dutch Div 1 games. If we had had the $$$ we would have probably signed him and everyone would have said how great it was and what a great signing.

You could also say the same about Mehmet, to a lesser degree. Then totally under the radar Sanchez arrives from SPL.... everyone is underwhelmed initially, he gets injured and has a crap trial and then stays under his own expense. Then turns out to be a more than useful signing.....So go figure that.

I totally agree with Morgan....recruiting is a pig in the poke!!!!!

Rigters is pretty good, he can shoot. We payed a lot of attention to him which opened up space for other players. Not sure he is really worth half a million dollars though relative to the other players.

If the team and tactics don't suit the player then they can be made to look bad. Players seem to take a step up when they play for us. Ricki's selection and tactics may be suspect at times but his man management is not.Ryan2012-01-17 16:45:43

Birighitti appears destined for the Jest, alongside Kennedy, with Matt Nash released. Would not mind Paston and Nash as our keeper lineup for next season, the latter has looked solid when he has got game time.

Nash has been behind Kennedy who is a fairly ordinary keeper for sometime, he is 30 and played bugger all in his career.

I would rather take Imray

For someone that watches ASB Prem often is Manel Exposito A League quality?
Not saying for the Nix but in general

He is probably one of the better players in the Premiership but does go MIA a lot. Thats about it really. I don't think he is an A League player, maybe a squad man. Certainly not for an import slot that's for sure.

Tbh I'm more keen on Stefan Marinovic. He isn't getting game-time in Germany so bring him here to play second fiddle to Pasty and potentially challenge for the starting spot.

Then in two years when Marinovic is starting regularly, bring in Scott BasalajLuis Garcia2012-01-18 00:24:22
