Every time I hear the name Hogg I think of "Ann-hog". (Arrested Development fans will know).

Given Pantelis' history with injuries, not sure that his insurance would cover all that much.

Why would you say that? Everyone is basically insurable just his premiums might be higher. I've some experience of Aussie sports insurance and its been a straight flat fee for everyone. Not sure the AFA or PFA would agree to anything different. Might be different at pro level perhaps?

We did always say it would take time to get there, but it probably would happen eventually. Funny how that has panned out. Roles completely reversed.

Not completely reversed but definitely tilting in your favour as to developing Kiwi talent. Don't think the tiki taka experiment at ACFC will last the distance and hopefully we'll return to being a coal face Kiwi dominated national league club in the not too distant future.

I just hope the Hogg rumour is true for both the Phoenix and his sakes. He's definitely A League quality.

Wasn't serious, just wanted another cheap shot at the Pantelis signing.

Hmm interesting, it was 14th jan - 14th Feb last season.

In articles about Joel Griffiths transfer to Sydney, Goal.com reported it saying the window opens on the 14th and TheWorldGame & FoutFourTwo says his first game he can play is against us on the 19th. Only people that mention the 1st in his transfer is FoxSport.

I suspect Sam Worthington has been reading YF again. No quotes, sources or 'names being mentioned'. Sam, Frank Lampard might also be free soon too, is he also in the mix?

Signing Ian Hogg is a no brainer to me, which means Ricki will probably go for an Aussie journeyman instead.

Sorry I was more highlighting lazy journalism than anything else. Troll the YF forums for a while and you could easily make copy for 2 weeks without any sources or actual journalism.
I agree Hogg would be a good signing about now.

Putting 'might' in the headline of an article makes me skip reading an article straight away.

Signing Hogg makes sense. We need another body, and gives Lochhead some much needed competition.
Permalink Permalink

That only makes sense if signing Hogg means we won't be able to sign anyone else, which I don't believe is the case?

Allegedly

We're needing a number of changes to be fair, and Im all for Hogg. Finishing outside the 6 might be what we need in order for Welnix to start looking properly at the squad at hand, especially if they want people to start turning up.

Swap Stein for wood. Scored a brace for Leicester. Would free up a import spot lol

This. You know that as well as anyone News. Outside of that, you have to release imports which is going to cost us and as we are at the cap, how do we replace them? Even then, is Ricki ruthless enough to release imports?

Not really Welnix's job to look at the squad. Welnix told Ricki he could spend the whole salary cap. Ricki got the players he wanted. Ricki has always said it is not his philosophy to go and sign marque players. We have got the squad that Ricki thought could do the job, the buck stops with him.....now its up to him to make it work with the players he recruited!

But he can't cause Gareth's telling him how he has to play!!

I think Ricki has also said this too. I know Tony P did say they would go there if they had to but I don't think they did? (unsure)

This
Ricki has been quoted many times over the years that he does not do  marques and true to his word he has never done it.....Welnix picked up on it too.
