What's with all the Ward hate? I always loved him. Thought he always gave as good as he got.

Ward was very lazy and uncommitted.

Ward back? I'd rather not. I don't think he's starting material and I didn't think he was very good/effective off the bench. Someone will probably look it up and prove me wrong but I'm pretty sure he scored most of his goals when he started.

I'm not saying we should bring Nicky back but we've certainly made a lot worse signings than him. Scored a few good goals for us and always looking to attack.

If either (or both) Fenton & Boyd sign in Europe, who do we think we'll sign (I assume from PSE) to replace them?

Don't think that's something we have to worry about just yet.

Yeah. Fenton did a job at A League level, Boyd less so. I would be surprised if they were picked up

Gareth Bale available for $200,000,000.

Well they are on contract for another year right? So if they do the we get transfer fee and buy a marquee with it.  : )

2 more years each.

Young players should be looked at regardless, but it's difficult to comment on unless you watch a fair bit lower level football.

Maybe Rowe and Balasaj to replace Pasty. Biss possibly.

Biss is a dirty word around here.

 Love the bisstake joke.

I hear Scott is off to the US though so possibly only Rowie available/worthy of a spot?
Hamish Watson (I'm sure Smithy will be over the moon when he reads this).

Seriosuly though, Biss? He strikes me like a very similar player to Boys (because of his flair and slight build). Gulley?

Id like basalaj to stay and would like to see ryan thomas get a youth spot

I was gonna mention Watson. Looked very impressive when I saw him play. Biss though, what's the inside word here? Looked fairly impressive against Heart if anyone remembers.

Rowe is solid. Would like to see him pick up a youth contract. He's definitely a prospect.

Rowe is too old for a youth contract.

Watson and Biss? Seriously?

They're both in the NZ U20 side.. so out of the pool of 20 players we'd be expect to be in the running they are there.. probably just a few others I'd have instead

I know he isn't very well liked by a few around here but would Matt Simon be able to do a job for us? I realise we don't need another striker, but his work rate could fill the gap left by Gameiro. He was just released by his K-League team.

both of them would fit wanderers

I'd be surprised if he didn't go back to Gosford unless ARnie takes him to China.

Surely he'd be too expensive for us? And he'd want to go back to CCM if he could? I hear McBreen hasn't been offered a contract despite his 19 goals and tireless work rate. There's a player I'd give a 1 year contract with a clause for 1 more year if he scored 10 or more goals.

CCM's new owners are not signing any new contracts until they have had a chance to go over the books. That is why McBreen hasn't got his deal yet. If you get in first, there is always a chance. But we are in a similar situation with waiting for a new coach.

@ playWithFire: I could see WSW chasing Simon for sure, can do the same role as Dino and is a bit better and Aussie.

@ newzealandpower: We already turned down the chance to sign him, he had a trial the season before joining the Fury if I recall correctly. Not sure he has ever scored double digits before this season.

I actually suggested Balasaj and Rowe... All I said about Biss and Watson is that I was fairly impressed by them when I saw them play.

RR - I remember - and correct, I think he scored more this season than he did in all previous years combines (in the A-League).

I think he was a different player back then. I was doing a radio interview on Monday for the GF and I said I was so impressed not only by McBreen's scoring ability but by his work rate. So many times this season he has defended from the front. In the GF alone he spent as much time in his own penalty box as he did in the opposition's.

I know he's no spring chicken - but I'd definitely try to get him for a year - imagine he and Brockie up front next season with Carlitos sitting in behind..

I'd like to take a look at the Patterson boy in the U17's whose been offered a youth contract at Ipswich and Scholarships in the states despite having a year left at school. Clearly the kid has potential to have this already lined up. Also young Rufer has been getting pretty decent reviews and is an attacking midfielder. From what I have heard and seen (admittedly just highlight packages etc) no one in the u20's really stands out and says sign me. Biss did do well in his one off game, but has not progressed since.

Matt Simon was never really someone that caught my attention. Knew he had a temper but not a golden boot, had a return of about a goal every 3 games which is probably about average in the league. Surprising to know he was offered a contract from the Colorado Rapids (MLS) in 2009 but turned it down.

Sounds like Simon wants 250k, and CCM won't pay it. New owner is trying to cut costs.
